I am hearing that Stanzi is going to play the entire game tomorrow... can anyone confirm? Hopefully it's true.
I'm going to predict... Iowa 31 NW 21
Stanzi 19/30 220 yds. 2 TD, 1 INT 3 sacks

I hate to say it but I'm going to have to go with:
Iowa 17, NW 24
Stanzi 16/27, 1 TD, 2 INT, 7 sacks.

No way we give up 7 sacks to NW, even though D is supposed to be improved.
I'll go 24-16, Iowa.
Hmm...Stanzi - 18-25 210 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT.

I was pretty sure O'Kweefe would find a way to lose to Pitt. NU is pretty bad, but we're not terribly good. I think they go spread and make our defense look like swiss cheese, at least on a few drives. NU scores around 24. I have no idea how the O will play, if they are decent, we should win big, if they suck, which they could bince they have had no time to gel or build continuity due to all the QB shifts, I think we could lose by at least 2 TDs. This one, unfortunately, is too close to call.
The best we could hope for as Hawk fans against this bad NU defense is stanzi to be about 10-14, 1 TD, 0 INT, 2 sacks, with Greene busting off 200+, 3 TDs and the defense or special teams scoring. That would be ideal, just a little confidence builder for Stanzi and a strong reliance on our big time tailback, but knowing what I know about Ken O'Kweefe's "figure out what is working and then go away from it" strategy, a big game out of Greene might be impossible.

I actually put a lot of thought into my score...I think NW comes away with 3 field goals after solid drives. If those turn to TD's...watch out.

We will definitely give up 1 TD because NW runs a spread. Normie still hasn't figured out a defensive formation to stop a 5-WR set with an empty back-field.
Stanzi must have a good game. I'm so tired of seeing JC on the field. 27-16 Hawks

An article on HN said that KOK wants to go with Stanzi permanently but KF overruled him. At least that's the way I read it.
Well not to be indecisive here but I think this game could go two ways. Stanzi could play lights out and go 23-31 with a couple of td's and greene will go nuts and we win. I think that's a likely scenario but i don't know what to think about NW's D'. If they play good and blitz like mad it will be a long day.

Well, NU should have scored about 24. O'Kweefe called a decent game (except for the play calling from the 8 on the last drive), Stanzi played one of the best games at QB we've seen in a while.
We used to be fundamentally strong. We used to hold on to the ball and not turn it over 5 times to private schools that wear fucking purple and charge god damn cocksucking 40 fucking grand for tuition. Bottom line, we take care of the ball, we win that game.
Stanzi led receivers and seemed like he might be serviceable. If he ends up panning out, we could win some games and today's loss won't be so bad, as it will be the real start of the Stanzi era. However, as fundamentally unsound as we have been the past two weeks with missed tackles, untimely penalties and costly turnovers, I have no reason to believe we'll go to a bowl this year, but if we progress a little bit, we might be turn out alright. I'm sorry guys, but that NU team is fucking bad. We should not have had any problem scoring on them, but we couldn't even hold on to the ball. It could be a long year.

If the turnovers prove to be the anomaly they appear, then I'm very encouraged with the progress of this team and see them competing with some very good schools. If the turnovers become the norm and other fundamentals slide, I'll spend a lot of Saturday afternoons puking my guts out.
