I know, I know. I said 2-10, but after that fucking craptastic display, I don't know where the fuck the second win is gonna come from. What a horrible fucking team. My most major grievances:
1) Paki O'Meara is NOT, I repeat, NOT a D-1 running back. Hell, I don't even think he could play other than in mop up time for UNI.
2) When Calloway gets back, that fucking O-line better get a lot fucking better. Jesus Christ, they went right over center several times untouched. Unacceptable.
3) Why the fuck isn't DJK or Davis on the field. Stross and McNutt are not the best WRs on the team.
4) Klug was the only d-lineman who came to play today. Line has to get a lot better fast. They looked like shit out there.
5) Kweefe allegedly "worked on Stanzi's mechanics" during the offseason. Fuck, he sure as shit worked some fucking magic on those. Stanzi couldn't have hit a fucking barn in the first half.
6) The secondary is shit right now. Of course, the d-line didn't do them any favors, but they looked like Handyman from In Living Color out there.
7) Murray is NOT a good kicker. The guy has made one fucking kick. One. We all saw it a million times. If we are inside the 40 or so, the staff has to call plays like it is 4 down territory until we get down to the 20.
8) Kweefe's playcalling still sucks ass. There were some outlanders sitting in the seats in front of us. When the offense came off the field after it's last stunning drive of the first half, I had some choice words for Kweefe, at which point the yellabellies in front of me started to become Kweefepologists, second only to Alfpologists/Steve Alford ass-licking society in terms of ill-informed/annoying/douchetastic Hawk fans on the planet. When Moeaki scored the TD, they kept saying "That should silence the O'Keefe bashers" at which point I pointed out how fucking happy I was that that fucking retard Kweefe could manage to put up 17 god damn motherfucking against a fucking I-AA program. FUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKK. Another fucking shitty year boys. Oh well, hopefully everyone is good and numb before ISU next weekend. It ain't gonna be pretty.

I sure hope UNI wins the 1-AA National Championship. Because that is the only thing that might polish that TURD of a performance.
To expect fans to show up for a shitty performance like that in this economy is asking a lot. KF and co. needs to get on-board with some "voluntary workouts".

The dude who has the suite seats and the good seats at Carver asked me if I had a spare because his brother was in town. The dude has been so cool to me, I had to give him my spare seat. Barber had a furburger who wanted a seat, so he gave his to her. No drinking at halftime. That was cool, though, I would have been too drunk to drive home had I drank at halftime.

I'm putting a Benjamin on ISU next weekend. Maybe more. It's easy money.
Paki O'Meara is the worst fucking running back I've ever seen in an Iowa uniform. No yards after contact. None. Horrible. He MIGHT start at Central or Coe. MIGHT.
O'Keefe is as retarded as he looks. Enough said.
Norm...same old fucking shit. No rush. Even though the secondary is weak. Horrifying.
Shonn Greene masked the incompetence of the coordinators last season. No such luck this year.
Moeaki was the lone bright spot.

Shonn Greene masked the incompetence of the coordinators last season. No such luck this year. Agreed. If the line steps up this week with Calloway back and Paki doesn't see the field, we could end up okay. But last year, Shonn kept the defense off the field and Mitch made the secondary look good by getting in the QB's face on nearly every play. Our line depends on one high motor pass rusher and when we don't have one, look out below, our defense is terrible. Greenwood is not a legit B10 safety and if he is asked to make plays consistently, we're gonna have a long season. ISU is looking like a pretty tempting bet right now, especially given Ferentz's ability to shit his pants every fucking time we play those ass clowns.

For what it's worth, a former player who is close with the team had concerns about this game, and it wasn't because of Iowa's preparedness (or seemingly lack thereof).

UNI really exploited Iowa's weaknesses. Greg Castillo, William Lowe and Brett Greenwood all got burned. Another weakness, yep the OFFENSIVE LINE. Doering, Gettis, got owned. Eubanks had a shitty game as well. Paki better not see the field ever.

That affects his ability to move laterally to chase down a block. Just sayin'. Then again, if his ankle is bothering him that much, maybe he should let someone else play.

Remember who our starting center was in 06 and 07 when the OL was shit? Then we had a different center in 08 and that line was great. Could it be Eubanks can't make the fucking line calls or know who he is responsible for to block?

Stanzi got sacked through rushes right up the middle on multiple occasions. I think Seff Olsen might have been pretty damn good, too. I mean, he was a first team all-American last year.

Doering and Getts both played like shit- they shouldn't be starting next week
Paki- love the heart but he got tripped up on a few of arm tackles that would have gone for huge gains- he should only see the field on ST
On the bright side
Spivey was making plays all over the field Tony and DJK looked good but need the ball a lot more
I didn't expect the game to be that close but I also didn't expect us to blow them out like so many people thought, UNI is a damn good team and would have beat a lot of D-1 schools on Saturday.
A W's a W the only thing we can hope is the players and coaches see this game as a wake up call or we could very easily start the season 1-3.

Very disappointed in Saturday's performance. Just another example of Ferentz and crew not getting the team prepared for an in-state rival.
Greg Castillo = Adam Shada Junior
I don't give a shit if he is a freshmen, he couldn't compete against UNI receivers and they were too physical. We are fucked on that side of the secondary.
O-Line = embarassment. After all the pre-season hype, they played like complete shit. I don't blame Paki and ARob that much as the Line was never getting a push on run blocking!!! Run Blocking!!!! That is supposed to be easier than pass blocking!!!!
Overall, this team was not prepared on either side of the ball. That goes to the coaches.

Holy crap, from the way it sounds to me, Iowa is in for a long season. didn't get to see the game other than the flashes during the Navy-OSU game and ESPN highlights, but was wondering what the hell was going on in IC. Sounded like they had the freaking ball the entire game. Did we sustain any drives at all? Any signs of life for the offense? My brother, the gay ass ISU fan, is already telling me they are going to beat us especially since it is in jack trice. I can't have another year of listening to his crap, so somebody get there act together please.

Iowa took the opening kick and marched right down the field for a FG and they had a couple of other drives, but for the most part no they didn't sustain any drives. Other then the last 2 drives for UNI they didn't really do a whole helluva lot either. I'm not worried about our D, they will keep us in games, but if the O doesn't help them out we are fucked as the D can only do so much.

Anybody see a second win on the schedule? Maybe Arkansas State. We are gonna get pantsed at OSU and PSU. We will look silly. Question - can Christensen transfer back up and play immediately?

what a difference a week makes.
I sure do feel better about the rest of the year now, especially after seeing Wegher out there. He's only going to get better too, 4 more years of this guy!
Rushing defense still concerns me.
