KOK should pop in the Purdue/Ohio State game film and watch the short routes that ate up their D. Sure we don't run the same O but I think we can run the same type of routes that worked so well for them.
Their O doesn't scare me at all if we can stop the run I think we have a good chance to win. Make Pryor beat us with his arm and I think it can be done. If we don't stop the run and they are looking at 2nd and 4 and 3rd and 2 all day long we could be in deep shit.
We also can afford any TO's and give their O a short field.

I agree, their O isn't going to light up the scoreboard if we stop the run, which I think we can because TP can't throw the ball any better than Jake could so I'm not worried about them beating us with the passing game. The game will come down to turnovers, I think our D can get Pryor rattled to make mistakes, the big question will be if JV can throw the ball away and not make stupid passes and force shit like RS likes to do. It's a longshot but as the week wears on I like our chances more each day.

If O'Keefe calls anything other than the same play PSU started the game with against us on the first play, we'll lose. He should have Vandenberg throw that pass 20 times a day and let it rip on the first play from scrimmage. You hit that pass and the Hawks will win the game.

Furthermore, a deep pattern which is picked off is essentially a punt. So go for it. If the kid has the cannon everyone claims he does, let McNutt, Moeaki and DJK fly down the field and give it a heave.

They're gonna blitz so it's gonna be man to man on the outside and the kid is gonna take a helluva shot, but if you connect, man oh man. Leave Moeaki to toss a quick block and then turn around to be the safety valve just in case there is a safety up top (I highly doubt there will be though because one's gonna bite on the PA - or blitz and the other will be watching Moeaki). You know precisely what Kweefe will do, though, he's either gonna run it for a loss of 2 or throw a crossing route right into the teeth of the defense, possibly for a pick 6. We've gotta mix a healthy dose of screens in, too. The only time to the o-line looks competent is when they let the d-line run by and then go out to lead block for a screen. Of course, bince they are gonna be blitzing left and right, Kweefe will run a maximum of 1, maybe 2 screens all day. God forbid you take what the defense gives you.

I'm far less worried about Vandenberg than I am O'Keefe. If there is a wrong decision to be made, O'Keefe will make it.
Having O'Keefe on your sideline is akin to being stationed in West Berlin circa 1978 and having an East German saboteur in your unit.

Close, thunder, but to adapt a quote from Patton:
"I'd rather have any big ten defensive coordinator's defense in front of me rather than Ken O'Keefe's offense behind me."

I will be shocked if we see anything other then a PA pass to start the game, when was the last time our first play on O wasn't one 1999? If we score more then 20 points with our O vs. tOSU I will be shocked. that said 20-17 Hawks!

Actually it will be the 5 yard out that we have fucking thrown to start the last 4 games and the CB will jump the route and take it to the house.
