Actually on NPR a couple of days ago some bomb disposal unit guys said the film was pretty accurate in displaying the lives of these units aside from the obvious problem of stuffing a deployment into two hours. These guys had disarmed/controlled detonated 25000 lb bombs. Think about THOSE explosions.

Finished watching it last night after work. A good movie? Sure but not in my top ten that I saw this year.
I would give it a 7 out of 10, decent rental but nothing more and I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to anybody.

He's actually right, the only top ten list this movie belongs on is the "Top Ten Most Overrated Films of the Year" list.

As you pointed out, is that really something to be proud of? ;D I don't understand why people think it was such a great movie- SPOILER It's a story about a Bomb tech in Iraq that likes to do things his own way and how that effects the relationship with the other guys on his team who at the end of the movie would rather go back and defuse more bombs then bang is fucking hot ass wife Enangeline Lilly and hang out with his son.

I saw this over the weekend and it was pretty good, but that is as far as I will go. Other than the fact that it dealt with bomb disposal, we have seen it all before. The troubled hero, drinking too much, doing things his own way, finally meshing with his team over some tense moments. Even the scenes watching the buildings for the threats felt really familiar. It was good, but not great, IMHO.
