My favorite part of that romp last night was at halftime when the reporter asked Franimal about keeping them focused against inferior competition, etc., and his response had to do with how poorly they had played in the last two minutes of the half. That, my friends, is how a coach builds a winning team that is not satisfied with just good enough.

Nice win, If Marble can keep hitting the 3's like he has the last couple of games and the D keeps getting better I think we can sneak into the top 5 or 6 in the Big Ten.

This team finally has quality depth. That keeps guys fresh which leads to better overall defense as well.
I still say we go dancing in March. The B1G could get 7 teams in this season based on the overall strength of the conference.

Last night is what Iowa is supposed to do to the SC State's of the world. This team is getting closer to being legit. Keep blowing out the teams you are supposed to blow out......KF needs to learn something from Franimal.

I thought our defense looked pretty poor today. I agree that MI is the real deal, more so than Indiana.
As tough as the B1G is this year it looks like another trip to the NIT, I like this team but think we aren't quite there yet to make the big dance.

They are still fine as long as they beat MSU Thursday. They just need a few top 25 wins and then beat the lesser teams. Cant lose many more home games though because road games this year will be very tough

Every game is important in a season like this, to a team like this. There will be no breaks, no rainchecks, no passes. I don't think this Hawkeye squad is up to a tourney (big dance) run. We're a year away. I hope I'm wrong, but...after following Hawk hoops for 30 years, I don't think I am.

You might be right but I think saying that right now is jumping the gun after facing the 2 best teams in the conference...I want to see how good some of the mid tier Big Ten teams really are.

MSU game is huge, as will be the trip to BTR's house. I think 2-2 is still doable but 1-3 or 0-4 would make it a pretty tough hill to climb the rest of the way. Let's not forget we have a very favorable schedule as well we just need to not lose any games at home and beat the shitty teams on the road and they can still go dancing.

We're a year away. I hope I'm wrong, but...after following Hawk hoops for 30 years, I don't think I am. It's an incredibly young team at the key positions. They are gonna receive some epic beatdowns against top tier teams on the road. But they should consistently improve and peak late in the season if they learn to flush those beatdowns down the toilet. They must learn, but not dwell. Unlike Kurt's offering this season, the BB team has the talent to improve markedly if they can avoid getting hung up on the periodical asskickings they'll receive.

^^^ Winning 4 games in football next year will be seen as over-achieving.
Hopefully, it gets "the problem" kicked to the fucking curb.

Yeah, I'm still at work waiting for some fuckstick to send me 2 signature pages and a consent and I think my first order of business when I get home will be delete that POS from my DVR. What the fuck? I honestly don't know if I can go to the game in Evanston on Sunday, I've been to like 5 straight losses at that POS including the one at the inaugural wasteland meetup and I might fucking kill someone if I have to hear "just like football" one more time.

Tough to overcome no Marble, sloppy play, and shitty officiating.

I really thought we'd see Fran fling a chair last night. He was totes pissed at that crew of Izzo fans disguised as officials.

The officiating was pathetic....MSU's first foul comes with just 8 minutes left in the first half? Please.
Still....they definitely pissed that one down their legs.

We shot like shit from the line and MSU shot well from the line when it mattered. The officiating was shit, there were way too many stupid turnovers in the second half, we had to play from the outside becuase they were camping in the lane, our defense was kind of weak, etc. etc.
Last night's game further cemented my belief that we aren't quite a tournament team, especially as tough as the Big Ten is this year. The only way we make it is if we beat every bottom half team and have a couple of huge upsets on the road. It can still happen but I don't believe it will. I'm not complaining either, still a huge fan of this team and where the program is heading.
