I wish a doctor would get Fran to agree to having his blood pressure monitored and recorded throughout a game. I think it would be a gas to look at the extreme spikes that occur when things go wrong for teh Hox.

We shot like shit from the line and MSU shot well from the line when it mattered. The officiating was shit, there were way too many stupid turnovers in the second half, we had to play from the outside becuase they were camping in the lane, our defense was kind of weak, etc. etc. Last night's game further cemented my belief that we aren't quite a tournament team, especially as tough as the Big Ten is this year. The only way we make it is if we beat every bottom half team and have a couple of huge upsets on the road. It can still happen but I don't believe it will. I'm not complaining either, still a huge fan of this team and where the program is heading. The way I see it is we can't afford to lose another game at Carver aside from Minny, and Illinois I don't think it would be that hard to pull off. at Northwestern almost a must win vs. Wisconsin W at Ohio State L at Purdue L vs. Penn State W at Minnesota L at Wisconsin L vs. Northwestern W at Penn State W vs. Minnesota W at Nebraska W vs. Purdue W at Indiana L vs. Illinois W vs. Nebraska W Getting to 10-8/9-9, win a game or two in the tourney and we are for sure on the bubble. Hell looking at the back half of our schedule aside from Minny, Illinois, and Indiana it actually doesn't look that tough at all. Of course that is if we start to play better and learn how to win the close games. Not having Marble killed us last night and I think if he was healthy we would have won the game. Still not out of it but that loss doesn't allow much room for error the rest of the way.

What killed us last night was our super stud freshman point guard forgetting how to pass the ball. The officials didn't help and stopping all of our motion on offense didn't help, either. I was very disappointed with that outcome.

The charge call on McCabe after the last TV timeout killed all momentum we had. Once that old fuck, Jim Burr, made that call I knew we were done.

Something struck me the other day, maybe during the Michigan game. Other teams are playing talented freshmen, too, but there is a difference. We have to rely on ours while the better teams are able to filter them in around the productive upperclassmen. It made me look forward to the future even more.

Especially when BOTH guys in the backcourt are Freshmen it doesn't help. I just wish we had a true two because I think Mike is too small to play there all the time and Josh O. let's face it just blows.

We really need a 3 point threat that Josh O was supposed to be. I don't know much about the kid, but it sounds like Jok is pretty lights out from that range.
And Uthoff coming in next year. Ya, there's still a lot to be excited about.

We really needed that one last night. Goddammit.
Hopefully, we steal one on the road, but we cannot shit the bed again.

I was expecting 1-2 at this point....not 0-3.
But as weird as this sounds, it's been a rather competitive 0-3 (sans 2nd half versus scUM).
I'm mildly content at this point.

Problem as I see it is we are running out of chances for quality wins otherwise I agree with you. When I did my predictions at the start of the year I had us 1-3 in conference but with a win over MSU. We will beat NW and be in the same spot but still wont have a good win.

I'm glad I only have to watch NW once more this year. What a tire fire of a system he has over there. almost makes the lick era exciting by comparsion

Yeah, but it was good to see them just take off and run away with that game. It almost made losing to Okie State earlier in the day palatable.
No, it didn't.

That first half was almost unwatchable. Yes it was. It was eye bleeding bad. But as a whole (an ass kicking of NW), it was beautiful.

Josh Ogelsby is fucking terrible That is all He wasn't terrible vs. NW 1st good game he's played all year? He is crucial to this team's success - hopefully he has found the range. That would be huge if he could make a couple 3's a game

That would be huge if he could make a couple 3's a game I thought he had a couple of decent shooting games vs. the cupcakes. I'm not claiming he is great.....he is here to shoot 3's.....if he doesn't do that he shouldn't see the floor. I thought he looked good on Sunday, especially when he stepped around a defender to make a 2-point basket. If he can put down three to four 3-pointers a game, we will win most of those games.

Well, that game was fun! It is amazing to me that Fran and his teams have been able to bring the atmosphere back to Kinnick like that. I know it was a special night, but still.......

Gumbyhawk, Mrs. Gumbyhawk, and Little Miss Gumbyhawk were in attendance Saturday. Carver was fucking rocking there at times. I actually got a bit of a sore throat from yelling..... at a basketball game no less.
I am not sure if there is an official score, but I know who is winning the "best coach on campus" contest.
