Catfish is in Fort Madison tonight. Get that shithole town on the list. Can't mizzou just annex it? Did it turn out the 19 year old, blonde, amateur pr0nstar in heat was actually a guy in the state pen?

There's more of these videos on this website: ourstorymn.com. They talk about small towns in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota. Lame assed acting. I had the privilege of watching a 30 minute segment the other day. I have been home sick all week and couldn't find shit to watch but the cable guide said there was going to be a Zumba fitness infomercial so I thought I'd wait. This shit was on instead and like a bad accident, I couldn't turn away...even though I could have watched NCIS. I had to wait until it was over so I could see who was making this crap. If you can't find shit to watch on Cable, you need Netflix.

Not even doing a good job of being a drunk, too busy with moving lately.
In regards to shittiest towns, have any of you ever been inside teh Ottumwa high school? I was in there for a basketball tournament back in the Spring, and holy shit, talk about scary. The gym made the gym from Hoosiers look like Cowboys Stadium and I felt like the whole building could collapse around me at any time.

Check out some tv shows like, the league, it's always sunny in Philly, Louie and maybe some how I met your mother.. Arrested development is good shit too. That will fill your time for a long while.

You know what's really fucking depressing to watch? ESPN. murders, roids, rapes...it's like the reincarnation of Court TV.

So I went Barnstorming down US 61 with a coworker yesterday, and frankly, I owe Muscatine an apology. Yeah, the area near the river is shitty, but the west side of that town has plenty of neighborhoods that would make Chuckle's McMansion look liek the shitty house on the block. Sometimes when you look at these towns with a fresh perspective, you are surprised.
However, Burlington is an even bigger shit hole than I imagined, and the worst town I came across is Wapello, which has, perhaps, the most ridiculous restaurant I have ever seen, in the 61 Roadside Diner, which I later learned from a Wapello native, that the shitty restaurant is actually a converted baitshop.
All in all still, Highway 61 is a less depressing way to travel Iowa than Highway 30, especially bince 61 doesn't go through Clinton.

Maybe I mentioned this elsewhere in the thread, but mah colleague and I were fucking around on the interwebs one day when the topic of America's shittiest highway (excluding interstates) came up. Now me, being from Dodge and him being from Mansfield, Ohio, both thought we could one-up each other. I took 20, he took 30 and we did the analysis town by town, excluding west of the Iowa border because Nebraska there is nothing and west of Nebraska even shitsville is prolly reasonably decent just in terms of natural beauty. Surprisingly, I conceded that 30 is even worse than 20. Just in Iowa alone, 30 goes through: Mo Valley (been there - Happy Chef's hometown, total fucking dump) Denison Ames Marshalltown Cedar Rapids Clinton 20 is shitty in Iowa, too. Sewer City, Dodge, Waterloo. Some doozies there, but Clinton and Marshalltown is a 1-2 punch that nothing on 20 can touch. 20 makes a strong case with Rockford and Gary, plus places liek Erie, PA, but it fucking ends in Boston, which gives it some redeeming qualities. 30 takes the cake with Asswego, Joliet, Fort Wayne, Mansfield, Sandusky, a swing into West Virginia, a bunch of shitsville places in Central and southern PA, Philly and fucking Camden, NJ. That was one other thing I was gonna do if I hit the lotto. Get a decked out motorcoach and figure out whether 20 or 30 was shittier in person. Start at Mo Valley on 30, take it all the way out east, then take 20 back until I hit Sewer City.

Did you cross paths with atomicblew? He purports to be a Burlington resident Outside of the folks who man the Wendy's, I didn't interact with any Burlingtonians. Thankfully, my meeting was in the suburban paradise of West Burlington, which is a town second to none in all of Iowa.

Dubuque is just a nicer town every time I go there, but East Dubuque falls in with the lowest of the low. Or would you say Galena equals out East Dubuque? Or does Galena need to stay free to balance out Rockford? Or South Bend, or Michigan City, or Toledo, or downtown fucking Cleveland...

As usual, the more east you go the worse the shitty little towns are.

I'm just saying that on paper, 30 is a touch worse than 20. Just a touch. Jersey and the jaunt into West Virginia make it happen. Say what you will about South Bend, East Dubuque or Rockford, but you know what? None of those places are in New Jersey or West Virginia.

If you have ever been to the Circle, Mulgrew's, or the Land of Mint and Honey, then you would think you were in West Virginia or New Jersey.
