Tork had this to say: "I'm still holding out hope for him on the north side. I still believe he can be a good player, Baez -- while I admit he looks a lot better in AAA this year and I want him to get another shot -- is no guarantee, and I've got a soft spot for Castro. He was practically the only reason to watch the Cubs for a few years, and I want to see him get rewarded with hardware now that he's surrounded by elite talent." Tou can make fun of all the cardinal fans you want. You've got Tork. JFC...Elite talent? They're starting liek 4 rookies.

It wasn't a matter of noticing that Castro isn't good - they knew. They tried to trade him for weeks (if not months). It was a matter of figuring out whether Schwarber, Russell and the rest of the youngsters were ready to make a run this year. They decided they were and are going for it. That means benching Castro for now and seeing what happens. I was hoping for .500 this year and improvement after that. It seems they may be a year ahead of schedule even for the Cubs management. At least they are in the wildcard race. Even if they don't make it, or lose right away, this is the right path.

I didn't think the Cubs would be anywhere near as good as they are this year. Maddon is one hell of a manager, that's for sure; I can't otterwise explain what the hell they did. They have liek the 4th best record in baseball right now? Granted, they're just hot right now, and they'll regress to the mean, but even if they only win 1/3 of their remaining games and miss the playoffs, their season is an unqualified success.

Won 12 of 13. Gained 2 games in division. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL You're so cute. The Cubs would be leading every single division in baseball other than the NL and AL central. Made even more impressive by the unbalanced schedule. The Cards, Cubs and Rockies are the only 3 teams with winning records vs. the NL central. And laugh all you want we don't give a shit. Nobody expected the Cubs to be where they are right now including the Cubs. This was always the bridge year to get the rookies some experience for the hopeful multiple year run at bigger and better things. They are playing out of their ass right now and went from being a couple games back for the last wild card spot to having a 4.5 game lead.

Won 12 of 13. Gained 2 games in division. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL Really? That's fucking insane. Mebbe teh Cubs can push the Giants out of the playoff picture. It's the only way the Cards have a shot to lose to the Royals in the series.

Well that was easier than I thought. No don't get me wrong, I am rooting for a Royals-Cards WS. The amount of Card fan butthurt that would generate would shoot teh Lulz off the charts. I am afraid if the Giants face the Cards in the playoffs, they'll fuck them up liek they always do, and ruin my dream.
