I saw something that the cheap Obamacare plan has a $5k copay and that is why the premiums are so fucking low. Cereal question - how many brokedick proles who don't have insurance today have $5k sitting around? I'm funna guess none. Surprise proles, you're not really insured. I'll bet that the hospitals just change their pricing such that they can fill up $5k of "services" really easily and then write that shit off bince they know they'll never get paid on it so they'll figure out a way to raise prices on the back end. Has anyone in DC ever studied game theory?

Do you mean 5K deductible? Even if you have a 5K deductible, you're still billed at the insurance-negotiated rate instead of paying full price like poor uninsured schmucks get stuck with. There's a better chance hospitals will get paid on the insurance-negotiated rate than on the exorbitant uninsured full price.

Also, I consider my tax payments a donation. I don't expect SS to be around in any substantial form for me. Perhaps I will be pleasantly surprised. I doubt it.

What this nation really needs is real, widespread growth. Good luck with that.

My sis and bro-in-law are registered Repubs. and Uncle Sugar still owes them 80K on last years tax return in Colorado and told them they will be audited before they will pay. The IRS won't find a flaw in their return either. They have contacted their congressmen but that won't do shit either. Since Agent Orange Boehner isn't busy currently he may be getting a direct call. Higher deductibles mean that consumers can still be on the hook for a lot of medical costs even after they pay their monthly premiums. This is especially true when you look at Obamacare's insurance marketplaces, where deductibles greater than $5,000 are relatively routine, especially among the cheapest premium plans that consumers have gravitated toward.





That's remarkable: employers actually spent less on health care between 2011 and 2012. But at the same time, they asked workers to spend more.

The theory of higher deductibles is that they'll make consumers more cost-conscious. This recent bout of slow health-cost growth suggests this theory is right (as does a big, long body of research). most hospitals and treatment facilities will not take Farrokh because she doesn’t meet their minimum weight requirement.

Dr. Michael Strober, professor of psychiatry and director of the eating disorder program at the UCLA Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital, explained to ABC News that the refeeding process of people suffering from anorexia can be extremely risky.

"Refeeding syndrome results from metabolic changes that are associated with feeding an individual who has been calorie-depleted," Strober said. "So, the feeding needs to be carefully monitored. The refeeding syndrome will involve the body’s attempt to adapt to sudden introduction of nutrients ... Too rapid increase of calories can result in the metabolic adaptation which is associated of a number of hazards, which can be life-threatening."

According to NBC News, there is one facility in Denver which specializes in refeeding patients who have extremely low body weights. Edmondson says he hopes his wife will be able to seek treatment there.

"People think it's just about being skinny and that they just need to eat something and it will be all better," he wrote on GoFundMe. "The reality is people are hurting so much that they're trying to make themselves disappear, and if we ignore it we let them. I don't want this fate for my wife."
