"Jim Hendry confident Edmonds will help Cubs"
Tell me, Jimmy, what in the fuck would make you confident? I'd like to pick your brain on this one.

Fucking chillax guys. Edmonds will have a solid hot streak and you guys will be lining up to perform fellatio on Hendry, then Edomonds will be gripped by the same shittiness that has plagued every Cub for the past 100 years and all will be right in the Universe. Deal with it.

He hit a single his first at bat! I LOVE THIS GUY!!! That's for you, BTR. EDIT: and then strikes out with the bases loaded and hits into a double play.

I forgot that no one cares about them.

Edmonds will be good for the Cubs through about July. Then his body will break down. He will have a few bright moments later in the season, but nothing consistent. The only thing Cubs fan can expect from him is a solid glove in CF. He will make all of the plays.
I wish Edmonds would have retired as a Cardinal and accepted a back-up role. He still thinks he is an everyday player, that is a mistake.

I'm still waiting for him to be good up through July.

Deep down you envy me because of that. ;D

I still hate Jim Edmonds...I can't stand that fucker to no end. I don't care if he is in Cubbie blue..Until he starts doing something like he did when he was in St Louis, then I don't care...And even then, I still wont really care. Is this really that funny...

I was in line behind Scott Eyre this morning at Whole Foods when I was getting my breakfast. His chin pubes look even more ridiculous in person. Seemed like a nice enough fellow, though.

This Bullpen sucks cock. Wood blows another save and Cubs lose in extras.

This Bullpen sucks cock. Wood blows another save and Cubs lose in extras. Not sure I could disagree more Justin. The bullpen has been pretty solid all year long, a few blown saves by Wood aside. Howry makes me a little nervous, but other than that, I feel pretty confident in every guy coming out of that pen. Nice win today. Way to bounce back after that tough-luck loss yesterday. That wasn't the bullpen's fault by the way as Soriano lost the game by dropping the fly ball.

I have to agree, the bullpen has been not to bad. If we can get a starter going to the 7th, I feel confident we're going to win.
And YES soriano lost that game.

Yes Soriano did redeem him self last night, I was praying he would come through and get the winner, and sure enough he was the hero last night. Good sweep over a not to shabby LA Dodger team, and Lowe pitched pretty darn good last night to.

Wow, what a comeback. Back from down 8-0 to win 10-9. Edmonds had a big day too.

Eight in a row now! Longest winning streak since 2001. Keep it going fellas!
Hopefully, the Marquis du Suck (trademarked by GROTA), won't suck as much as he normally does and we can get number 9 under our belts.

Has he won against anybody but the Pirates yet? Can we package him and Leiber and trade for a bag of BP balls or something?

I'm actually OK with Lieber out of the pen. Though, Marquis needs to be sent to the same island as the cast of "Lost". Maybe, if we're lucky, the island will see fit to keep him there forevermore.

I'm trying to enjoy this win streak as much as possible...but you have to think at some point our bats won't be this hot. Cub's pitching staff as a whole are walking waaaayyy to many people.

Marquis freakin implodes in the third last night. He makes me VERY nervous. The bullpen has given up a few late inning runs the last few nights to make things interesting. I guess the good thing is good teams find a way to win these games.

Nice to see Lilly with a strong start last night. Too bad the Cubs didn't pull out the win, but we won the series, Lilly had a strong start, and most of the bullpen got the night off.
Let's go beat the hell out of LA...especially since the only people at the game will be Cubs fans since the Lakers will be playing basketball this weekend.

I would have loved to get 10 in a row, but it's all about winning the 3-4 game series. Also promising due to the Cub's road woes in the past.

That is what is tempering my enthusiasm about this team. I am enjoying the winning, but there is a long list of teams with huge offenses that did not win in the post-season because of a lack of pitching, and the fact that you usually have to get by teams with stellar pitching to win it all.

I think we have the tradebait available, without trading "the core" to get some pitching for help down the stretch and in October. Tradebait to me would equal:
Gallagher Hill Marshall Murton HoffPower
I MIGHT even throw Pie into the mix if it got us someone like Sabathia. If there is one thing Hendry excels at, it is the in season trading deadline. I feel comfortable in saying we'll have another solid pitcher at Wrigley before the end of July.

Fun game to watch last night. Who needs Edmonds? Reed Johnson with two web gems and two RBI.
