John Kitna is smart. 10 wins is inevitable. What the hell was with last year? We should draft a receiver. Millen is a genius, and only time will show this.
I miss Wayne Fontes... not that Bobby Ross, Gary Moeller, Marty Mornhinweg, Steve Mariucci, Dick Jauron, and Rod Marinelli have/are (been) anything but fantastic.
Did you know Wayne Fontes was an assistant for the Hawkeyes?

Wayne Fontes was awesome playing Big Pussy. Too bad they killed him off.

Wayne Fontes chewing on his favorite cigar (probably enjoying retirement).

Roy Williams is in his last year of his contract. Look at him to EXPLODE this year and put up about 3000 yards (remember, Kitna throwing it to him).

"Wide receiver Calvin Johnson looks good after being bothered by a back injury most of his rookie season. "It's kind of funny watching him run the conditioning with everybody," quarterback Jon Kitna said, "because he's beating everybody by a pretty good margin and it doesn't even look like he's running very hard."
Maybe accounts for mediocrity he showed last year. He's going to tear it up this year!

The mediocrity that he displayed last year can be attributed to last year being his rookie year. WRs don't typically breakout until year 3 in the NFL.

That too...but for a high first round pick, I would say he did not meet expectations, even for being a rookie. At times he didn't look like he was running full speed, and this helps explain why.

Iteus, you are cracking me up in this thread. I am far from being a Lions fan, but will be checkin in on you in here this year to make sure you haven't lost your sanity. HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS!!

I'm a Hawkeye, Cub, and Lions fan. I had to check my sanity at the door years ago!
But, Kitna being an MVP of the league is very, very sane. And probable. His biggest threat for MVP would probably be his teammate, Roy Williams.

The Chosen One didn't have a bad game...this one is on the defense. Can't allow a running back over 200 yards and expect to win.

Losing to the Falcons is inexcusable. Too bad Kitna can't be more like Jay Cutler.

Too bad Kitna can't have games like he did against Green Bay every week! 4 TD passes in the 4th quarter is amazing!

They didn't even pick up a fucking 1st round pick!?? I understand that there might have to be a rebuilding process, but how the hell do you let RW go w/o at LEAST a 1st round pick??? Unfuckingbelievable. We can't even get rid of Kitna, even though we tried. Orlavsky apparently has know fucking clue where the endzone out of bounds is.
0-16.

You understand "there might have to be a rebuilding process?" WTF? Dude, it's the Lions, their whole fucking existence is a rebuilding process. The sad thing is you can't even blame Matt Millen for this trade. The Detroit Lions, along with the rest of the city of Detroit, should seriously be sold to China for scrap, like this article (quoting Kwame) states: www.theonion.com/content/node/46937

Oh yeah, for the record, Detroit narrowly edges out Newark, NJ and Marshalltown, Iowa for shittiest town BTR has ever visited.

Detroit the city does suck, having been there and gotten lost south of 8 mile.
But that's not the basis that I pick my teams on. Barry Sanders was the most exciting player to ever play the game, and ever since, I've been a fan of the team. Too bad he couldn't have play somewhere else...but I'm stuck.
And yes, it has been a constant rebuilding process. But if the blocks you're rebuilding with are crumbling, then unfortunately you have to start over.
Lastest report is that we ARE getting a 1st round pick, which makes me feel a little better. Please, let's pick up another QB, and pray that the curse of the quarterback graveyard passes us.
