The Remnants of Company D; The Somme, and some other book that I read so long ago I am failing to remember the title. It's so interesting to me that no one gives a shit about WWI anymoar. When I was a wee lad there was an old one-legged man in the hood that liked to sit on his porch and watch the world go by. One time I asked him why he only had one leg and he told me he lost the other one in the Great War. I asked him if he meant WWII and he got angry because no one remembered WWI. His wife told me it was a touchy subject for him and that I shouldn't bring the subject up again. The funny thing was, 'Merica was all about the Great War in the 20's. Like obsessive girlfriend about the War. If your town has a war monument, it's prolly a WWI monument. Then the depression came, and no one gave a shit anymoar.
