North Carolina made the smallest per-capita contribution to the war of any state, as only 7,800 men joined the Continental Army under General George Washington; an additional 10,000 served in local militia units under such leaders as General Nathanael Greene.

I think KU is dead last, then WVU, then TTU, then KSU, then BU/TCU, then ISU, OU, UT, and OSU at the top. ISU and KSU could be swapped depending on how the renovations go, but Trice holds up very well in the overall atmosphere/appearance rankings. KSU has made some pretty impressive renovations. I'd put JTS right behind them in the rankings. 1. OU 2. UT 3. KSU 4. ISU5. OSU 6. BU 7. TCU 8. TTU 9. WVU 10. KU OSU's stadium cost them a lot of money but I don't think it holds up to JTS's atmosphere. cyclonefanatic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=188735&page=28

I'm dying to see the clown calculus that proves bowling in the end zone = 3 moar wins per season guaranteed. Shirley at least one of the retards on cryfan has posited as such? Dude, they were nailing down HUGE recruits with just the possibility of the bowl. Can you imagine what will happen when it's actually done. Iowa's days of competition are over, and Nebraska will be fucked as well.

Derp, Derp. -Jack Trice is not perfect. But IMO is pretty decent and has been constantly improving and will get even better. IMO, it is much better than Kinnick. Kinnick's bathrooms totally suck. The parking and tailgating atmosphere are not even close to that of Jack Trice. And at Kinnick it was raining a little the one time and it made it extremely slick so you would almost fall on your rear end walking to your seat. Atmoshphere inside was okay during the game.
The bowling in of the South End Zone will greatly improve the aesthetics and also the atmosphere of Jack Trice. I understand your comments about the North End Zone. Fact is, that is what we have. Originally we only had the Olsen building. And the Jacobsen Building is a big improvement over that. A BIG improvement. We have incorporated our previous facilities into our expansions. Mainly because we have very limited resources. But we have a very nice stadium and it is improving.
We have a lot to be proud of and nothing to be ashamed of.-Count me down as being a fan of Jack Trice. I actually went to a game at Kinnick last season for the first time and wasn't impressed. Sure, it was nice outside but it didn't live up to all the hype that I had heard over the years. I will grant you that the exterior brick and façade is cool looking, but that's about it. The bathrooms are small and the walkways/stairs to go up to your seats are narrow and fairly tight to maneuver through. The seats and rows are packed so close together that I felt like I was almost sitting on top of the person in front of me.
The actual game atmosphere wasn't any better than what you have at Trice and it only seemed marginally louder due to the end zones being enclosed. The student section was weak and anemic compared to what we have. I also wasn't that impressed with the content on their jumbotrons and the music selection was pretty 'meh' as well. I bought a soda at one of the concession stands and they don't even offer a lid for the cup. How do you not have lids? It wasn't a case of them running out, they plain just didn't have any. So then I had to navigate through the narrow aisles and uneven steps back up to my seat without spilling my lidless drink. Mind you I'm fairly buzzed at this point because that's the only way I can handle this many Hawk fans at once.
Don't even get me started on the lackluster tailgating, poor parking options and ridiculous traffic just to get back to the interstate so that I can get the hell out of that town. I'll pick JTS any day of the week over that place.
TL;DR version: Kinnick sucks balls.-We went to an ISU game at Kinnick several years ago. The parking sucked. The tailgating sucked unless you wanted to stay in your own remote lot. Spread all over. Bathroom situation was awful. Garbage strewn all over. Barbaric situation. People were friendly to us. We met some Hawkeye friends at their tailgate. But I was not impressed at all. No way I would want to have season tickets to that situation.-There is nothing about the "Hawkeye Gameday Experience" I would trade for a day at JTS.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/showthread.php?t=188735&page=29

I mean, honestly Iowa is liek a program that is sammiched between say 20 and 40 nationally. Of course there are Iowa fans who bitch cuz we ain't top 10, but it ain't gonna happen. Your pappy shoulda been from Texas or 'Bama but he wasn't so fucking deal wif it. But anyway, Iowa is fairly firmly in that second cut of programs once you get under the behemoths, but Iowa State is liek literally around number 80-100 or some shit. They are honestly a fucking MAC level program that abso-fucking-lutely lucked into being in a conference with Nebraska and was able to hitch a ride into the Big 8, where they were a fucking perpetual doormat. There is absolutely no fucking doubt that if a NCAA split happens and another round of realignment with 4 conferences is forged, ISU is in no fucking man's land. When you're at the point of bitching about lids or disparate tailgating because the school didn't set aside a whole section (640 acres) for your fucking stadium and parking lots, you're officially a douchevalve.

I've found the quality of tailgating is about the people you're with, not the location. When I tailgated at Northestern, it was a fucking blast. It's only natural that a brainwashed clownie, who is so bitter and jelly of Iowa that they hate Kinnick on reflex and spends 6 hours a day venting this on teh internets, doesn't think it's a good stadium. And of course, ISU's homefield, which is better and louder than Iowa's, helped propel them to a whopping 4 home wins the past two years. #TriceMagic

What I get from that, is that Kinnick does not have a multitude of fat ass wide seats for them to sit in. Which is why they complain about the narrow seats since their 400lb asses cannot fit in it.

When was trice built? Anyone? Is it STEEPED IN HISTORY? It's a testament to concrete workers worldwide.

When was trice built? Anyone? Is it STEEPED IN HISTORY? It was built in the 70's, during the era of shitty stadium building best known for those horrible concrete edifices that were convertible baseball/football stadiums, with such inspired designs as the Vet in Philly, Riverfront in Cincinnati, and the inexplicably still open Oakland Coliseum.
