I honestly don't know much about VEISHA outside of making riot jokes in the past, but what is the deal? Why is everyone fully torqued on Tuesday night trashing the town? I'd like to know the answer to this too. Despite being born and raised in Des Moines, the only thing I have ever known about VEISHA is riots?

See, here's what happened.
Follow the CryFag "logic:"
ISUck lost to UCONN. But they didn't really lose to UCONN, cuz Georges Niang was injured; they would have won if he wouldn't have been sporting a walking boot. Ergo, they really beat the team who won the national championship; ERGO ISUck is the true national champion.
So they were celebrating their national-championship-by-proxy in all its glory.
FUCK THA POLICE!!!

I honestly don't know much about VEISHA outside of making riot jokes in the past, but what is the deal? Why is everyone fully torqued on Tuesday night trashing the town? Because they live in Ames. They wake up in Ames, they eat breakfast, lunch, and supper in Ames, and they go to sleep in Ames. Their lives are so uneventful and shitty that the moment anything remotely exciting happens they shit the bed en mass. Something normal people would view as routine, like a Thursday night at the bars in Iowa City turns into a fucking riot because they can't handle fun or booze. It helps if you know your VIESHA history. Back in 1988 and 1992 there were riots. In typical Clown fashion they immediately went to look for an external scapegoat (the problem can't be them you know). They decided the real culprit was the Greek system who tried to turn VIESHA from a wonderful festival celebrating the schools academic programs into an intergalactic kegger. So they basically made the whole campus dry except for bars and private parties. "We've solved the problem!" all the fucktards in Ames thought. Then in 1997 a guy went and got himself stabbed to death at VIESHA. The powers that be in Ames all sighed, clearly there was more to the problem than they had thought. It turns out niether the stabber or the stabbie were actual students at ISU. "Of course!" cried the asshats, this isn't a problem with ISU students, it's all the out of town trolls that cause all of our VIESHA problems. "If only we could keep all the outsiders away" they thought. Well try they did. Every VIESHA week Ames turned into a Soviet Block country. If you were caught in Ames without a Clownie student ID you were going to get run out of town, arrested, or both. "Now we've done it!" cried all the pedophile Clowns. VIESHA is perfect and saved. "We've thrown out the evil Greek influence and the out of town trolls, now the only thing left are the awesome students and alumni at ISU!" And everyone lived happily ever after.... There were riots in 2004, 2009, and now 2014. It turns out the problem WAS all the bumblefucks in Ames after all! Who would have thunk it? But in the end it probably wont matter. No doubt that today in between giving his daily blow jobs to Hoiberg and Woades Steven Leath is feverishly trying to come up with another foreign scapegoat. Anything to avoid coping with the reality that ISU and Ames fucking suck right?

VEISHEA stands for Veterinary, Engineering, Industrial Sciences, Home Economics and Agriculture, representing the traditional colleges within ISU. Now sure we can mock those, but they are all intensely important college majors (save for Home Ec). What has happened is that Iowa State has created a virtually open enrollment policy and so now they have a bunch of fucking retards going there and these riots are the end result. I would bet that the vast majority of fucksticks rioting lack the intellectual capacity to engage in the intellectual pursuits (save for Home Ec) in the VEISHEA name.
Now I don't know 'bout you guys, but I sure hated cops when I was younger, however, I would have never dreamed of throwing an object at them. It's totally fucking idiotic and the type of shit that kids who aren't smart enough to get into good colleges do.
Anyway, my brother got teargassed at VEISHA in 1992 when some shitheads started doing idiotic shit. My brother, gay, choir singer, never thrown a punch in his life. Unlike you guys, I got some respect for a HANDFUL of the colleges in Iowa State because they are very top tier, but when my brother gets teargassed, well I fucking hate the god damned degenerate fucks who your school lets in to boost enrollment and sadly, at ISU that is the majority of the school.
So in short, fuck VEISHEA, fuck Iowa State and fuck Ames. The fact that especially in this day and age they can't control a few thousand hicks gathered in one place is a fucking disgrace. Call the Chicago PD and learn their crowd control tactics from when the "honor students" took over the lakefront. Given that everyone has a fucking cell phone camera, start putting out some rewards. The fact that ISU officials and Ames police are constantly outsmarted by the "scholars" who live in Ames speaks volumes about how stupid those fuckers are.

I've been told by more than one reliable source that Clown U is losing its Engineering College advantage over Iowa, and fast, because Iowa has a far smaller student:teacher ratio and because Iowa requires liberal arts coursework, which is producing more well-rounded graduates than Clown U, which doesn't require that and is increasingly churning out socially retarded, worldly-challenged automatons. I guess they've still got the market on corn and cows covered.

For those of you railing on the QC's....when's the last time you actually spent time looking around the area?
Yeah, 30 years ago when I lived here for the first time, it was a big-time union town, typical late 70's urban blight, crappy downtowns, etc.
Fast forward my friends, look at where it's come from and where it's at:
Multi music venues (Adler, I-wireless center, Bix Festival, huge 3-day July 4th festival by river, Circa-21 club) Minor league baseball/hockey Huge yearly auto show. QC airport. CSA population of 475,000. Four major down-towns are cleaned up. Any type of food you can imagine. Riverboat entertainment, Jumers, etc Some of the best high school sports in the state All the surrounding towns actually coordinate with each other so each summer weekend is unique Midwest Harley Swap meet at the fairgrounds The Putnam, The Rave. Mansion after mansion on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi on both sides. Best fair in the state except for the State Fair. A pretty neat zoo. Skiing in the area. Absolutely gorgeous motorcycle riding area...north/south along the river. Magnificent. The gateway to Chicago (2.5 hours away) and to Iowa (Iowa City 60 miles away). Opens up all kinds of Iowa sports opportunities and Iowa scholastic opportunities. I can make most Big-10 sport venues in 6 hours or less by car. The Mississippi makes it unique....barges, sea-birds, fishing, other river traffic....can't find it anyplace else.
Every-time I drive through DSM, I am thankful I don't live there or Ames for that matter....land-locked, flat, square, boring, dreadful.
I'll take the QCs anytime...over any other place in Iowa.
