Setting aside the actual debate has anyone met an opponent of common core who wasnt bat shit crazy at least, and down right scary at most? I was listening to the radio and some broad was going on and on about how dangerous it was. How it was going to promote the militant homosexual agenda because part of the sociology element taught that some kids have two moms or two dads. Then the oller day I got a mailer in my mail box that was basically on par wif a kkk flyer.
People crazy yo.

It's easier to indoctrinate people into rightwing ideology if you keep 'em stupid and uninformed.

It's easier to indoctrinate people into rightwing ideology if you keep 'em stupid and uninformed. Really though, who are we to judge people who take their cues on politics and morality from a thrice-divorced, draft-dodging, drug-abusing, hypocritical, college dropout, impotent, racist, misogynist pathological liar. Truly, such people and their beliefs should be afforded all the respect in the world. AMIRITE??? BUT HE'S RICH!!! Rush said it. I believe it. That settles it.

It's fuckin math and English. How can you fuck up math and English? Math and English are hardly subjective. They ain't teaching Ebonics.
The fucking NEA is agin anything that requires objective accountability. Take those drones with a grain o salt.
Goddamn if we can't have universal standards on how to count and how to speak and write we are truly pilfered in the buttonhole.

This economic system is so skewed in favor of capital and management that it's disastrous for labor to lack organized power. Any fucking basic examination of the non advancement of the middle class over the past 30 years coinciding with the demise of unions demonstrates that. You know who really super hated trade unions? His first name was Adolph.

Unions, always there to protect the rights of those with the least ability to perform at the lowest level.

You due reel-eyes, Sue, that the unions oppose the Common Core implementation, not the idea of the common core itself. Of course you realized that distinction, or else your link spamming would be incredibly intellectually dishonest... From the NEA President: So when 45 states adopted the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), we as educators saw the wonderful potential of these standards to correct many of the inequities in our education system that currently exist. Educators embraced the promise of providing equal access to high standards for all students, regardless of their zip code or family background.
...
am sure it won’t come as a surprise to hear that in far too many states, implementation has been completely botched. Seven of ten teachers believe that implementation of the standards is going poorly in their schools. Worse yet, teachers report that there has been little to no attempt to allow educators to share what’s needed to get CCSS implementation right. In fact, two thirds of all teachers report that they have not even been asked how to implement these new standards in their classrooms.
...
NEA has been called upon to oppose the standards. It would be simpler just to listen to the detractors from the left and the right who oppose the standards. But scuttling these standards will simply return us to the failed days of No Child Left Behind (NCLB), where rote memorization and bubble tests drove teaching and learning. NEA members don’t want to go backward; we know that won’t help students. Instead, we want states to make a strong course correction and move forward.

Unions, always there to protect the rights of those with the least ability to perform at the lowest level. That's akin to saying that all corporations exist to gouge their customers and exploit their employees. It's the bad apple fallacy. You always notice the rotten apple. The good ones don't cause a stir. Most corporations exist to procure a profit by providing value. Most unions exist to represent the occupational and economic interests of their constituents. They have competing interests to some extent but they can easily coexist to their mutual benefit. Corruption, fraud and catering to the lowest common denominator are horrible long term organizational success plans. Bad people eventually get what's coming to them.

There's the problem right there. No. The problem is a bloated central government run by incompetent fucking bureaucrats trying to impose its will on every single goddamn school in 'Merika. One size does not fit all. Get the fuck out of the schools, Uncle Sugar. LET BOBBY PIYUSH JINDAL TEECH THA KREASHUNISUM!!! When it comes to minimum math and English standards, one size absolutely does fit all. Every student in America should be competent in those disciplines at a certain level.

I have an idea what you THINK the common core is, based on your ignorant comments. Guess where the common core started genius? The National Governors Association in 2007 (before Fartbongo was elected). Joining the CCSS is VOLUNTARY BY THE STATES! 44 have signed up. No one is having shit imposed on them, you fucking retard. Furthermore, do you know what standards are? Do you know what curriculum is? Standards are the bare minimum of what a student should know at each grade level. Curriculum is the materials used to reach those standards. THE FUCKING FEDERAL GOVERNMENT IS NOT SETTING CURRICULUM YOU FUCKING IDIOT! Local schools are free to teach whatever they want, so long as the kinds are actually learning something. Learn about the fucking subject instead of parroting retarded talking points that make you look like a fucking idiot.

The CCSS is not even federal law. It's a program developed by the National Governors Association that states are freely able to choose. The only thing the feds have to do with it is that states were given grants if they adopt higher standards. Most states chose the common core. Texas and Virginia wrote their own standards, separate from the CCSS, AND STILL GOT FEDERAL FUCKING MONEY! The CCSS is the absolute opposite of a bloated central government. It is a set of baselines developed by the states, and freely chosen by the states. People who oppose it are generally retarded. Fucking idiots.
