You know what's interesting is in reading that you can tell he has no clue about how to interact socially wif women or read social cues. He's talking about this woman wanting the ad cause he pr swimsuit top was loose, or about moving long distances to be wif a girl who likes him then he ruins it by leaning against her or some shit.
It's probably a good fing he's a virgin cause if he weren't he'd be a straight up psychopathic serial rapist or some shit. Hell he might be one anyway.

What's so depressing about it? He lives with the results of his own choices, same as everybody else. If he doesn't like it he can always go out and get laid, even if he has to pay for it.

Others still have made no choices at all, which I guess is sort of a choice if you choose to look at it a certain way. Choosy mothers choose jif. If you choose not to decide, you'd still have made a choice. Something something, Rush lyrics.

I don't think this guy's problem is a series of bad choices, I think he has serious psychological problems, such as severe social anxiety, crippling body image disorder, and an inability to form interpersonal relationships based on an obvious blindness to nonverbal communication. He's an emotional and psychological wreck of a human being because he was abused and abandoned by the people who were supposed to care for him, and as a result, he's been completely unable to form a simple human relationship with anyone. The thing that bummed me out was not the shit about sex, but the fact he can't get close to anyone. I mean, the guy said he doesn't even think about sex anymore, but the first thing he thinks about in the morning is how horrible and lonely his life is. That's not a fucking choice. It's just sad.

I understand that the guy got the shit end of the stick since he was an infant, but why hasn't he sought professional help for his issues? To reach the age of 58 without doing a fucking thing to help himself work through the psychological trauma is on him. He made the choice to wallow in it. Lots of people get hosed by their shitbag parents during infancy/toddlerhood/childhood. (Imagine how doomed some of the ugly-ass kids of certain posters are.) Read Margaret Mahler's theory on separation and individuation during the developmental years. Bad parenting will fuck a child up, but there is help to be had; you just have to seek it out. The guy is clearly mentally ill, and has no one looking out for him. You can't expect someone like that to initiate their own recovery. Telling this guy to just go get help is like telling an alcoholic to "just stop drinking".

Telling this guy to just go get help is like telling an alcoholic to "just stop drinking". strawman much? I don't think you know what a straw man is. I didn't fabricate a false point and then attack it. Perhaps the alcoholic thing was a bit of a false analogy, bince alcoholism is a physical dependency as well as a mental condition; I just used it because I have dealt with that kind of thing in the past. Perhaps a moar apt analysis would be telling a person with anorexia to "just eat something". The point is, you can't expect someone with a self-destructive mental illness to spearhead their own recovery. The very fact they would willingly engage in self-destructive activities suggests they are incapable of getting care for themselves. This guy, however, doesn't have friends, family, or even fucking coworkers he sees everyday who can advocate for him, which just makes him sink further into it without a chance for escape. And that, friendo, is why this is a sad story.

I was going to come in here and say what ghost did (but of course not as well). There are people that are naturally resilient that can get through an awful childhood on their own...and rescue themselves. Maybe they have plenty of "normal" examples in life that help. This guy had a horrible childhood that has permanently damaged his pyche. I don't think he's one of those people. He seems to have done certain amount of self reflection to realize that he is fucked up. As far as saying "there's help to be had"....that's ridiculous. Even when you have money, mental health services are few and far between. It's difficult to get appointments, or find a doctor or therapist that wants to do more than medicate. This guy needs some serious long term talk therapy...and to feel loved. It's amazing he hasn't killed himself or others.

read the entire interview; the guy is not cognitively impaired. He's rational and compos mentis. He has made lucid choices throughout his life, as evidenced by the stories he relates in the interview. He's not "crazy". He clearly has sufficient mental capacity to recognize that he suffered trauma and it negatively impacted his life, which suggests that he is self-aware enough to seek counseling. Sorta sounds like you've written him off tho, "christian". How sweet. Mental illness is not a cognitive impairment. Lots of extremely intelligent people have had mental illness that's ruined their lives. Also, I'm not writing him off. I don't know how you got there. You seem to liek making shit up today. Minimum trolling.
