I love the dipshit that thinks this means the athletic teams are going away. It will just be like all of the other schools already out there like IUPUI. The only thing that will change is the name and probably an increase in class options.
Oh, and the increase in Iowa State butthurt

Wow. This is a desperate attempt to boost in-state enrollment and I am not a fan. If AIB isn't the worst school in the state, then I wanna know what is. As y'all know, I had my little "hey dudes, let's split this 10 strip 3 ways" incident the night before I was 'posed to take the ACT, so I just fucking went to DMACC to minimize cost and get transfer credits. That place, while it was full of dipshits, looked liek fucking Harvard compared to AIB. I had a buddy who went to AIB and me and mah boys had a place at Fleur Place, near AIB, back in '96 and '97. This dude I know who went to AIB brought some folks over, and I ain't one to judge dudes who come over to chief some chron, but these fucking guys were some of the dumbest sonsabitches I ever met. Think about it, they are going to a school that has no admission standards, costs a small fortune and whose academics are so fucking shoddy that Iowa, Drake, ISU and UNI won't fucking take transfer credits from. Christ, every one of those schools will take credits from Kirkwood or even Iowa Central Community College, but not AIB. That says A LOT.
You can see the stupidity in the kids in that story. There was allegedly a mixed reaction to them going to school one day and finding out that suddenly their degree will be from U of I rather than shittastic AIB and some of them were pissed. They also were pissed about their athletic programs. This fucking place is a god damned glorified high school that charges $17k per year and while I get that the U of Iowa is willing to completely whore itself out for additional government funds, this particular move is a REALLY, REALLY bad idea.
The more I think about it, the more pissed off I get. I mean, honestly this fucking school is a shit show and now fucking kids who went to AI fucking B are going to claim my alma mater as their own. It's liek when some fuck who went to UI-Springfield, UW Stevens Point or UM Flint claims they went to Illinois, Wisconsin or Michigan, respectively. Fuck, this is a bush league move on par with what Iowa State would fucking do. Fuck Sally. I'm adding this to the butthurt list when they call begging for fucking money again.

I know a few AIBers pulling over six figures. Isn't that the point? They can go ahead and claim my alma mater. I don't give a fuck. Iowa is buying out their facilities instead of building their own. There will be no AIB in two years.

The UI doesn't offer associates degrees, and I don't think AIB offer's bachelors, so what's the problem, so it's not like a bunch of court stenographers and medical code specialists (or whatever AIB teaches) are going to have real Iowa degrees. If the Regents are robbing the UI's pockets because they're not accepting enough mediocre students, why not build a mediocre campus where 20% of the state's population is within 30 miles? Mediocre students will flock to it. The UI can still enroll all of the bottom of the top 1/3 of the graduating class of Southeast Polk and Dallas Center-Grimes like the fucking regents want us to, while simultaneously recruiting from elite schools in the Chicago and Minneapolis suburbs like they should be doing.

No matter how hard you try, and yeah, you might wipe off a few of the shit streaks, but when you buy a toilet, you'll always have a toilet. If Iowa was gonna do this shit right, they would have bought some land in downtown Neck Moines rather than what looks liek a Soviet era housing bloc on Fleur Drive. This is a good way to tell the regents to fuck off, but it will increase the cost of state funding of education of borderline retards in the state. Oh well, mah taxes just went down to 3.75% and I ain't carrying the burden in Iowa so enjoy your toilet. Losers.

AIB does offer bachelor's degrees, fuckstick. Here's the problem. None of you fucks have ever known someone who went to one of these shitass schools who then lies about having gone to the flagship. I worked with one guy who went to IUPUI for law school. Indiana is a reasonably decent Big Ten law school, on par with Iowa, Wisconsin or Illinois. IUPUI is a festering shithole of a law school. This fucking guy (who got run in the Great Recession) went around claiming Indiana all the fucking time and to this day, his firm bio (at a different firm) says "Indiana University." HappyChef and I set up a crank call to the guy where HappyChef acted liek a potential client who was looking for "an Indiana man, like himself" and we did about 10 minutes of research about bars in Bloomington and shit. This little fuck proceeded to lie during the crank call. Sickening shit. I also had to hire an accountant recently. The guy I was going to hire had "University of Illinois" and some honors shit on his bio. He shows up and I start bullshitting with the guy about Champagne and he goes "yeah, uh, I actually went to UIC." That shit is outright fucking fraud. I told him to get fucking bent. Illinois is a top accounting school and UIC is a god damned dump - the guy could be the best accountant int he world but I don't want someone who makes such an egregious misrepresentation to have mah personal info and rely on their professional advice because they clearly lack a moral compass. 10 years from now when you guys run across some 30 year old with a puddle of drool forming on his face and the guy claims he went to Iowa, you'll see why I'm sofaking pissed off. Fucking regents.
