As stated a few times, battery storage lags behind solar technology, at least for the amount you have to store to run things at night, cloudy days, etc. Big, bulky, only last five years, expensive, etc. To put in batteries would have upped my cost by 50% or so. I passed. But I heard about recent breakthroughs.... Not commercially available. Probably a decade away.

Page 16 has pics. Shows the cells on the roof, dual pipes running to house, inverters. It simply hooks into the breaker box from the power shut off box.

You already showed us how they Fucked up your siding trim whilst installing a piece of flex conduit, for fuck's sake, all they had to do was screw the thing.... There's nothing more proprietary In your Shit hole's design package than there is in the recipe for silly putty....

Wait until I post pics of my new HDTV/Yamaha 5.1 surround sound system which was put in today. Yep, they left about 3" of wire showing after install. Guess I better call a lawyer huh?

Batteries would be a lot cooler. So you could store some juice to offset the times you have to use the grid....maybe? JFC.. No seriously, I don't know if anyone's herd or not, but there's this stuff called lithium. As stated a few times, battery storage lags behind solar technology, at least for the amount you have to store to run things at night, cloudy days, etc. Big, bulky, only last five years, expensive, etc. To put in batteries would have upped my cost by 50% or so. Gov't would have applied the same tax credits for a battery storage system. I simply didn't want this, this, or this in my garage.

This is being released soon as the newest system in solar power storage. No thanks.

Dude that system is worth about 30 of your mortgage payments.
Is that house 2 bedroom?

Interesting article. Thanks for posting. Wall-mounted/51" tall, 33" wide, 7" deep. Cya car batteries! $3500 for one battery, with multiple needed....ouch. Operating temps 'only down to' -4F....must have to locate it inside a garage then. Good 'next generation' energy storage for sure. Just not sure the extra dough is worth it to get entirely off the grid. Someday perhaps.

Well, tesla is building it's "gigafactory" which will definitely help lower the cost of the batteries considerably, but will still be damn expensive and they still need a long ways to go to be honest to be affordable. They are making progress, but it will take a while before it becomes something that many would be able to afford or justify having. Of course, if it's to say "fuck you" to the power companies, I'm all for it.

We decided on using Duracell D batteries, 5000 of them. Worked well for a while but every once in a while a battery had to be recharged or replaced. Had to check every battery. Then something happened.....

Those panels might be worth more than the house. Lol...got a chuckle out of that. Could be....but...Mr. Tax man is exempt from upping my base taxable property value for five years. And hopefully they'll forget about it in that time!
