Sunshine may or may not suck. But his arm has shown flashes of brilliance that is absent from Riddick's DNA. I don't so much care about his arm strength as I do having about having the testicles to actually make a play. This team HAS to have someone willing to stretch the field in order to have any sort of ground game. He also has more mobility, which also helps this team immensely. Well, any team for that matter, but it seems to be lacking for us most of the time. He's a better athlete than Riddick. That's not even a debatable point.

exactly. ok, so sunshine sucks too? great, at least we know. we were gonna always suck with ruddick. Sunshine may or may not suck. But his arm has shown flashes of brilliance that is absent from Riddick's DNA. That's bullshit. All fucking Rudock did was put up numbers, but people were mad because he wasn't flashy enough. I mean, seriously, look at his season numbers...they're incredible. They blow Stanzi's junior season out of the water, and he didn't have the benefit of Greene, McNutt, and DJK on his offense. They rival Tate's junior year (the year of "The Catch"). And he did all of this on AN OFFENSE WITH NO PLAYMAKERS! I'm not saying he was great. I'm not saying Sunny won't do better. What I'm saying is that this team is notably worse today than it was yesterday.

If this is the level of player hat sigh brings in, Urban will own him. Rudock is a pretty decent player. I think Iowa fans gave him a bad wrap. Sunshine won't do any better next year, believe that. Why would a starting QB suddenly leave though? In my mind, it's one of two things: 1. The program is in disarray and he doesn't want to stick around, or 2. He feels burned about how poorly he was treated by the coaching staff last year. My money is on #2. A. He isn't the starter. 2. Burned? He started two full seasons and had like 3 good games. He refused to throw it down field to open receivers. He was basically the josh oglesby of football. Practice Dynamo but couldn't pull the trigger in games. If he played for any other coach he wouldn't have started past the ISU game this year. III. No disarray. This is the first sign to me that Kurt may still have a chance to turn things around.

You are trolling though, so please continue. maybe if that damn ascot wasn't so tight around your neck, you could breathe enough to actually watch the games instead of just reading box scores with your chai latte.

Well, any team for that matter, but it seems to be lacking for us most of the time. This is pretty much where I am at with this. Do I wish Ruddock would stay for his senior year? Sure, but I can't blame the kid. That said anybody looking at his numbers would say why in the hell would he not be the starter or why wouldn't you want him? The problem is those people didn't watch the games. Ruddock was a serviceable QB but he doesn't have the most upside, especially when you are dealing with one more year vs. two years. Iowa's offense needs that take chances guy because the D isn't where it has been in past years where handing the ball off to greene 40 times a game would get you the win. We need a QB that is looking to score every play and not just get a first down, sure he might throw more picks that Ruddock but he also is going to be much more willing to let his WR's make plays and something that has been lacking in this O for a few years. Let's face it with or without Ruddock this team wasn't going to be great next year so why not build now instead of throwing a year away.

Those guys can read a defense better than " welp, looks like the got 11 out there, better throw to the slow guy in the backfield."

Easiest schedule in school history with the worst roster in 15 years. If you're blaming Rudock for how shitty the team was last year, that's just fucked up.

Every failure this team has felt is a direct result of the quarterbacks. It's their faults. They shouldn't let their coaches down....

I think Rudock is a symptom of the disease, and treating the symptoms doesn't make you healthy.

Davis still sucks, but that doesn't mean that rudock isn't partly responsible for his own suck. Beat hard, when prepped for a week by Davis, looked neutered. So it will probably continue to be the same, but Rudock is still not good.
