Alright fellow turd monkeys, it's time to look again at the future of Iowa football. I know I am a delinquent child who only occasionally shows up, but hell ginger never wishes me a happy birthday, ghost is still the guy you want to punch at the party but never do and thunder is that guy you want to really meet to judge if he truly is the bad ass he claims to be. I can't meet him online so it's pointless. I DO know however that you all like da hawks, even that dingle berry wrangler tweeter, so here goes. Post your predictions here for bragging rights later.
Sat, Sept 2 vs Wyoming 12:00 PM ET BTN Win 28-14 offense is terrible, but defense shines
Sat, Sept 9 @ Iowa State 12:00 PM Win 31-24 offense is still terrible. ISU keeps it close. We all hate the clowns and are grateful to shut them up again.
Sat, Sept 16 vs North Texas 3:30 PM ET ESPN2 Win 48-10 offense shows a pulse because it is North Texas. we all get excited we might have a chance at a decent season.
Sat, Sept 23 vs Penn State TBD Loss 31-10. Reality kicks us in the nuts for thinking we might have an offense. PSU looks scary good.
Sat, Sept 30 @ Michigan State TBD Win 14-10. Last minute victory pulled out our butt by a defense pick six. We all still hate Dantonio. He looks pissed on the sidelines. Thank god his daughter isn't there to encourage a fake punt.
Sat, Oct 7 vs Illinois 12:00 PM ET Win 24-7. Illinois still sucks the big one. Many fans chant wait till basketball on the way out.
Sat, Oct 21 @ Northwester TBD Win 24-21. Homer pick, but hey I think they can do this.
Sat, Oct 28 vs Minnesota TBD Win 16-13. We are ranked and doomed by a good mention on game day. I hate that Kurt Herbstreit chump.
Sat, Nov 4 vs Ohio State TBD Loss 28-10. It isn't close. There goes the top 25 ranking (23 at the time).
Sat, Nov 11 @ Wisconsin TBD Loss 13-9. This one hurts as it shuts us out of the division race. Get ready for a mid tier bowl game.
Sat, Nov 18 vs Purdue TBD Win 42-21. We look decent and start to believe we can win a bowl game. Suckers. And Purdue hasn't beaten Iowa at Iowa in like 25 years. They won't this time.
Fri, Nov 24 @ Nebraska 4:00 PM ET FOX Sports 1 Win 31-28. This makes us feel good knowing Nebraska hates us.
Final season record 9-3. No decent bowl invite, this guy isn't going to waste his time. Nope, not gonna do it...wait, tickets are cheap...let me check my account....don't do it.....honey we are driving to the game.....maybe this year Ferentz doesn't take a giant dump......at least Nashville isn't too bad a town to visit....Georgia is gonna own our ass......

Haven't been in a couple months. Boat needed a new gimbal housing - 3k in repairs. Just got it back. Going scalloping this weekend though. Figure a hundred scallops at $30.00 apiece for that night's meal. |

Is the offense supposed to be that terrible? If the spring game was an indicator, then we will be lucky to get 250 yards a game in total offense. 2 big questions - QB and a healthy productive WR corp. Vandenberg coming back helps as does a good UNM transfer. But a green and inexperienced QB combined with a KF, KOK and Lil KF offensive mind set means a lot of run, run, pass offense. Opposition will stack the box until something emerges. So, is KF going to allow a young QB to throw? He really hasn't in the history we have seen and even with QB's that could throw he was reluctant. You'll see some play action on third down, which won't fool a single person. Maybe a couple pre third down throws to keep the opponents honest and from going to a ten man front. But everything thrown will be short and safe for the young QB. Add in he has a good running back and o line to reinforce that mentality. This is going to be a very conservative play calling year. A lot of three and outs, a lot of field position football. No real chance of a hurry up offense unless down late in the game. Drove me nuts last year when we ran a few series with quick execution and actually moved the ball, then went away from it. Not much chance of that happening again. At least he got some balls on going for it on fourth down when threatening to score. Hope that continues. I hope our defense is in good condition because they will be on the field a lot. |

Also, the year we went 12-0 everyone said the year would suck and the offense was shit in the spring game.

CJ BabyMaker had nobody but a TE to throw to, with the exception of Akrum catching the occasional pass out of the backfield. |

I had some hopes til watching the spring game. I sincerely hope that whoever the QB is gets a chance to put some air under the ball. But with 2 RB's and a decent oline I don't see KF even considering it until absolutely necessary. Iowa needs a solid WR to be a threat in order to establish the offense without being one dimensional. I only see three losses on the schedule, but those 3 could get ugly except for Wisky. Our defense isn't built to be on the field 75% of the time. You've got to control some clock.
I saw nothing in the spring game except Vandy not playing to make me believe we have an offensive pulse.
