Diamond Dave getting knocked to the ground by the Wolverine was just on Sound Off again. He should be getting royalties. Again today or a few days ago? They were talking about that last week because of ISU rushing the field and then getting fined for it after WVU coach bitched about it. Someone told Keith Murphy on Twitter that he had to have a bunch of shoulder surgeries because of the “incident” which of course we all know is fake news. It wasn’t Chris Wormley that killed his shoulder; it was being over 60 and thinking you could heave a toilet over your head and into a dumpster.

Seriously how the fuck do we not know u dont go for 2 unless u absolutely have to? You should go for two at every available opportunity. For the most part, that's what the math says.

In the aggregate, it probably does because teams have special 2 pt plays and likely convert over 50% of the time. But, in the real world, I don't like Iowa's chances of moving the ball 3 yards in one play with the defense bunched up at the LOS. I think the biggest clusterfuck of 2 point conversions was what happened to Carolina in that Super Bowl against the Patriots. They started chasing 2s early in the 4th quarter and lost 32-29. Had they not gone for 2 and led NE to attempt a 2 to take a 7 point lead, the game would have been tied in regulation at 31-31. Of course, they would have gagged in OT, but chasing 2s early against a team that has a QB that shreds your defense is really, really fucking dumb.

With Hockenson and Fant, I like our chances of getting three yards on the goal line in most scenarios. I mean, if you really thinking about it, saying something like "It's not smart to chase points" is an incredibly fucking stupid thing to say.

If you watch Iowa's defense, you should know that in the third fucking quarter, you're gonna need at least two TDs to win. So if you're down 11, you score a TD and go for 2, you're basically saying "we can get this game to OT with a FG" but that is clearly not the case when you're playing against a guy like Tom Brady or you are dealing with a defense as porous as Iowa's. If you are down 8, 15 or 16 late in the third quarter or any time in the 4th, yeah, chase the points. But down 11 points in the 3rd you are still on cycle. If you score and wind up down 4, then score again, you now have a FG lead. You are implicitly saying "I like Nate Stanley's chances on one pass at the three yard line against an all out blitz." Sorry, bud, but I've seen to fucking much to place more than a moderate degree of confidence in Iowa converting in that scenario.

I'm simply saying that I think the smart play is going for 2 100% of the time.

Yeah, and over the course of a season, Iowa would end up converting on probably 60% of them because they would connect on a bunch of them against shit teams and then against good teams they would end up rarely connecting and would end up losing like they fucking did on Saturday because THERE WAS NO FUCKING REASON TO GO FOR FUCKING 2 WHEN THEY WERE DOWN 11 IN THE FUCKING THIRD GOD DAMNED QUARTER.
