While i do like a deep fried Turkey, i will never cook one that way for Thanksgiving for two reasons. No stuffing and no gravy. I am not having thanksgiving without those two items. I never stuff my turkey with stuffin. It slows down the cooking process. I cook it a casserole dish and bake it. I still call it stuffin and not dressing because I’m going to stuff my face with it. Don't tell anyone, but I just make up souped up stove top. I don't just make it out of the box but the main ingredient is stove top.

There will be plenty of booze, but I gotta make sure I have enough vodka for the stepdad. One drawback in Cackalacky is you can't just walk down to the liquor store and buy booze on holidays or Sundays. You can get beer and wine anywhere, but spirits can only be sold at liquor stores and by law they are closed on holidays and Sundays. The liquor code was recently amended to at least let them stay open after "sunset," which used to be the mandatory closing time. You can only buy liquor, in Minnesota from liquor stores. Some beer in stores. We finally just got the right to buy alcohol on Sundays this past June. Pretty sure they are not open holidays. Does Minnesota still have the setup bars where you bring your own bottle in and they sell you the mixer?

I’ve never heard of that so my guess is no I used to frequent one in Harmony that conveniently had a liquor store next door. I went back there about five years ago on a trip down memory lane. The bar was still there but it had been turned into a gentrified sports bar. The entire area had been commercializd beyond recognition. Don't look back.

The bar was still there but it had been turned into a gentrified sports bar. The entire area had been commercializd beyond recognition. Don't look back. I think that was a common business model in really cold, rural places in the north. Many of the towns wouldn't issue liquor licenses so you'd bring a bottle and pay a membership fee and insane markup on stuff to have a social place to drink and eat. I think they're somewhat tied to the supper club concept up there. I heard stories from old timers waaaay back in the day that those places were where everyone went in the winter. I think the concept of bringing the bottle was conceived by the DUI laws of the time. According to my granddad, you could as drive as drunk as you wanted and the cops would help you get home, but God forbid you had an open container of booze in your car - then you were fucked. Rural SC has a similar concept, but it is to shirk the Sunday liquor laws. A "private club" can sell booze after midnight on Sunday, so a whole bunch of bars are set up as private clubs with something like a $5 annual fee and then they stay open until 4 in the morning.

Do you have a neck brace yet? Remember to keep your blinds closed and not do anything physical outside because there are cameras everywhere now. Good luck!

Hey lawyers, I just got rear-ended while sitting at a stop light and the guy admitted fault. How bad should I go after him? Depends on your insurance and the kind of damage you get but if you can still breathe and use your arms, good luck. That happened to Diamond Dave and I several years ago. I was driving and stopped at a stop sign. Some gal not paying attention hit our stopped car about 25-30. My neck snapped forward and back and I saw the color purple flash in my eyes. Same with Dave. EMS was there in about 3 minutes and they asked him if his neck hurt and he said yes and he was immediately put on a backboard and layed on that fucker for about 3 hours until they finally cleared his c-spine. I lied and said no when they asked that question and drove to the hospital to meet up with him with the backend of the van wrecked feeling like I was ready to puke. I was fine but he’s had neck problems ever since.

The only reason to cook a turkey at all is as a vessel to properly cook your made from scratch turkey liver, sage and onion stuffing inside of.

He ain't dead. Why do you think they haven't released the autopsy photos? Spoiler alert. THERE AIN'T NONE.

You cook 2 turkeys dipshit. Aint nobody got time for that shit. I can cook 2 birds and 2 racks of ribs at the same time. Y'all need to get a bigger smoker. If I used the oven or grill that would add at least two more birds.

Use actual bananas too and make the filling with condensed milk (fucking fat ass) and I think it's vanilla puddin'. There's actually some cooking involved. Fuck I'm starting to pant.

Here is what you do. Buy about 7 turkeys and a bunch of booze. Spend all your spare time the next 3 weeks next to your smoker drinking booze and experimenting wif different recipes. Then no matter what shit mah asks you to do the answer is always "sorry I can't I'm watching the meat". Claim you are only doing this because you want your first soufern fanksgivin to be a big success. Be sure to put a worried look on your face occasionally as you drink your booze.

Got an 11 lb bird last night thawing right now for a trial run on the smoker tomorrow. Finally got one of those thermometers where I can leave the probe in the meat while I smoke (prolly should have bought one of those awhile ago). Also fixin' to make a homemade cornbread stuffin' (technically dressin' bince it will cook outside the bird). I had never looked at the corn meal choices in a soufern grocery store until last night and I was stunned at the number of brands they have down nyah. You go to Hy-Vee to buy that shit and they got like two choices, here it is fucking 15 linear feet of shelf space. I had no clue there were so many little processors out there.
