Which scope have you got pard? I have an 8" celestron. Here is a oic from just minutes befor the last solar eclipse. Moments after this, the clouds rolled in and it poured rain. I missed the entire eclipse. I prolly have the same as you. Celestron Nexstar 8SE. I was trashed the day it was delivered and me and my neighbor were trying to use it before I had the laser dialed in. Fucking disaster. I thought it was broken. Man would I have loved to be a fly on the garage wall for this one..

I thought it was broken. Man would I have loved to be a fly on the garage wall for this one.. Here's how it went down. By sheer serendipity we found Saturn. We were awed. But then of course we were both piss drunk and so as the earth's rotation caused it to leave the field of view we couldn't figure out which way to aim the scope. After 15 fruitless minutes of searching, I laid on the ground to get back from the view finder because the finder alone has a really broad range when you look at it from up close. So I'm laying on my back with the controller adjusting the scope while trying to look through the viewfinder from super far back and my neighbor is standing looking through the eye piece preparing to yell whenever he sees something. It was ridiculous. Next morning, I finally decide to read the instructions and found out there was a laser dot inside the view finder but that you needed to spend like 90 seconds aligning it against an object at least a quarter mile away to get the tube of the scope aligned with the viewfinder. It works great now!

In many ways I am hoping Biden's Mr. Nice guy is a schtick... and he comes in and just starts roto-rooting everything Dipshit did via thumbtacks & post-it. In this case, I don't think the 4 guys at the Pentagon getting made fun of for their Guardian status will mind becoming airmen again.

Can’t wait for a bunch a stupid new precedents to be set in the next 4 years...

I was much underwhelmed. I didnt even bother setting up a scope when i could see with the naked eye that the planets where not superposed.

Saturn was at about 2 o'clock over Jupiter and they weren't nearly as close as I thought they would be. Had the scope out, but couldn't get a good focus because they're still hundreds of millions of miles apart, but it was cool being able to get them both with a 25mm lens with the Barlow attached. I suspect that ain't gonna happen again in my lifetime.
