Spend an extra $8 to fill up yesterday. Big fucking deal. Oil going to $140 a barrel was a big driver in the last economic collapse that began in earnest in 2007. Again, I try to be consistent on things so I don't fully blame the president for the entirety of inflation, but the oil price is an input component in virtually everything and having a north of 7% inflation print plus oil going parabolic is a really big fucking deal. The Fed has got to hike. Like on fucking Monday. Sorry, just thought we were talking price of gas here.

Tell me again why we are not turning the taps back on in the Williston basin? How is it helping the lefts aspirations towards the Green New Deal if we have just replaced domestic oil production with Russian or other foreign country who hates us oil production.

How is it helping the lefts aspirations towards the Green New Deal if we have just replaced domestic oil production with Russian or other foreign country who hates us oil production. I'll take this one. Moving oil around the world in ships uses more oil, which is a good thing. For me. Because I own oil stonks. I want that Williston basin shut down permanently. Any oil production in the US done outside of Exxon or Conoco should be banned.

Minimally. Worldwide demand going up, our friends the Saudis withholding barrels. Bite-Me is vowed to shut down shale, so no new investment there. We screwed. “The views are ultra bullish, but they highlight increased confidence in the oil market after Brent rallied more than 200% after hitting an 18-year low during the pandemic. Demand has bounced back in key Asian markets, while OPEC+ is withholding barrels and a lack of investment is keeping shale supplies at bay. Goldman Sachs Group this week lifted its third-quarter forecast by $10 to $75 a barrel.” I'm not screwed, I'm long XOM and VLO. I hope they stomp the dollar sofaking hard that oil hits $200 a barrel. The sector rotation bince last fall in oil stocks has been a sight to behold. This mini spike is from a couple refineries in Texas going down, but the underlying global crude price has spiked and that ain't got shit to do with Texas. XOM dropped their 10-K and they absolutely slammed the brakes on capex last year and went so far as to write their shale off their books entirely (they still have them, but they wrote them down to $0). I started rotating into earl last fall when I noticed that traffic was nearly back to normal here because 80% of the people don't give a fuck about The Germ and my investment thesis is that by spring or summer, that mentality will take off elsewhere. We are just ahead of the times. I predict that oil usage in summer 2021 is gonna be off the god damned charts and with supply constraints from capex cuts and the substantial market power of Valero and PSX in the refining game, it's gonna be a shitty summer for proles who need to buy gas. OMG, Exxon is damned near at $100 a share. If you guys were in with an average price of $39 and were getting a 9% dividend on the price you paid, would you sell and take that gain (no taxes because it's in my rollover IRA) or would you ride this bitch to see if she goes to the moon?

You don't wanna ban exports of crude because our refineries aren't set up to handle the type of oil we pull out of Bakken. Refined products would be hard to ban exports on as well because the refining towers produce certain proportions of product and the US doesn't need all the butane or propane that comes off the top of the tower. I guess they could theoretically ban exports of refined gasoline, diesel and jet fuel but I think there is grave concern that if you do that and some other country sets up its own refining operations that could fuck over the US refiners when crack spreads drop.

It's the FINISHED exports that need curbed, not banned, but maybe curbed some? Nobody said anything about banning exports..
