I got laid off for a month at the start of covid, but sadly I have a couple years to go before I can retire to my manifesto writing cabin.

Yes. The law now is that you do not need a permit to purchase, carry, or conceal (on your person) a firearm in the state of Iowa. I'm sure there are some restrictions on felons and whatnot but otherwise its the wild west in Iowa. I'd be interested to know how law enforcement types feel about this. I would say that I wonder how the 'blue lives matter' crowd square the circle of passing this law and the almost certain additional risk police officers will face but let's be honest, they don't really give a fuck about the police and their lives.

I bought my quick release holster in anticipation.

Can businesses still request that firearms aren’t allowed? Can Kinnick state that firearms aren’t allowed for example?

I could very well be mistaken. But maybe this is why they decided to allow beer sales in Kinnick. If not they better rescind the beer sales decision pronto.

I said I wouldn’t go with him if he was carrying. I generally don’t go to places where you have to worry about people with guns. You know….like schools, concerts, theaters, and grocery stores…so I don’t need him to have a gun that can be taken from him and used or get shot by police being the good guy with a gun. Most people with guns get their guns and have little to no training let alone do any practicing for accurate shooting. The police, who you would think could shoot better than your average dumbass do not shoot worth a shit. I just can see it now…some Wisconsin fan getting all mouthy in Kinnick while we’re getting beat again, and someone in row 5, seat 19 pulls out his gun he just bought at the gun sale from some county fairgrounds the month before and taking care of business.

The only places I’d pack heat are 1) the hood and 2) the back country. In both instances I’d be protecting myself against an attack by a wild animal. If I see someone packing heat at Kinnick I’ll fucking kill him and I’ll get away with it under Stand Your Ground, because only an unhinged lunatic with bad intentions would bring a gun into a football stadium.
