In Curt's Defense(giggity), a lot of things are done without his knowledge. For instance, some teams these days try and develop aggressive Offenses that work to score more points than the opposing teams; it's clear to me this type thing happens without any knowledge of his.

Brian has no excuse. Somehow, against all odds, the Iowa offense is loaded.

Brian has no excuse. Somehow, against all odds, the Iowa offense is loaded. Major excitement now. This is either going to be a season on par with '85, '02 and '09 or else it is going to be the wettest fucking fart ever that will make us all question our fandom. Anything short of a trip to Indy and a competitive game with Ohio or Michigan is a complete fucking failure.

This is our last shot in our lifetimes because once USC joins and the divisions disappear we are toast. Iowa, Sparty, Wisconsin, Illinois, Nebraska and Purdue will collectively get maybe 3 or 4 shots per decade because it will require being better than PSU, Ohio, Michigan and USC. It's a tall fucking order, bud. Once the divisions are gone and there's a hint of a popularity contest element dropping shit games to teams like Northwestern will be fatal to a season. Guys my age will probably only see one more stacked Iowa team after this season. I think this team will be stacked. I really think we get fucked once Ferentz retires as well. For all of his faults there are plenty of mid tier programs who would trade the good fortunes we have had with Fry and Ferentz in a heartbeat.

The amount of talent Kurt sends to the League is really quite impressive. It's definitely a selling point that will leave when he does. We are in fact totally fucked once the divisions disappear. UCLA could be dangerous too, the fact that they aren't a perennial football powerhouse is an anomaly.

They weren't even "that good" and pantsed us. This program is pathologically incapable of playing west coast teams anywhere other than Kinnick. But that last bowl game against USC was pretty fucking epic. Unfortunately they seem to have found a coach that could be problematic for some time to come.

Ronnie Harmon dealt them the ball like a card shark and Gaston Green ran circles around that Iowa defense. Iowa just physically dominated USC in that Holiday Bowl game. Doubt that’ll be the case again. I think joining the B1G is going to compel UCLA to get its shit together. Which is not good news for us. Hopefully they’ll keep on being mediocre.
