Pinella stated that "it is time to look for other options in right field." A lot of people on here bought into the early season hype. And there were some who stated they would rather have this guy instead of Ichiro. Ichiro, by the way, is hitting .310, on pace for over 200 hits, a dozen triples, 50 steals, plus has the strongest arm in the outfield.

Typical Cub fan hysteria to think Fukodome was going to be even half the player Ichiro is/was.

Any player that is slumping at the plate as badly as Fukudome is should be benched. His glove would be sorely missed in the outfield, but he definitely needs to start hitting the ball more.
I don't doubt some thought he'd be better than Ichiro, I never thought that. If he was, he'd of been here (America) far sooner than now.

I think the pitchers finally caught up with Fukudome and have a solid scouting report. Luckily, the Cubs have some depth.
