I can only think of one time. The first couple of years were bad, 2001, I think we lost early, 2002 we lost to the Clowns early, 2003 we got rolled by MSU in week 4 I think, 2004, ASU and UM, 2005, Clowns and Buckeyes crushed us early, 2006, didn't lose until OSU, I think it was week 5, maybe it was week 6 (but we still managed to squeak out a 6-7 record), and then last year, we lost to the Clowns.
So there it is, our highly paid coach and his buddy Kenny boy started 4-0 or 5-0 in 2006, but other than that, the Hawks have quite a storied history of laying eggs early under the Ferentz-O'Kweefe regime. We need to make some changes.
FIRE O'KWEEFE.

I still think Ferentz is a very good coach. And unlike our former hoops coach, Alford, he is actually learning from mistakes. The 'old' Ferentz would rarely play an underclassmen and definitely not a true freshman. This year there's underclassmen and true freshman all over the field, and some are making big plays.
I don't think Ken O'Keefe is the world's greatest OC, but when he has the weapons I've seen him put 60 points on teams. I seen him go 10-2 without any running game what so ever. I seen him beat Michigan in the Big House 34-9. I seen him beat a 'faster, more talented' Florida team in the Outback Bowl 38-17. I seen him beat Wisconsin 33-7 to win a share of the Big Ten Title. I might be a little off on those scores, but I remember those games vividly.
Let's face it, Iowa's problems the last 3 years have had more to do with poor execution and a lack of playmakers than they do with Ken O'Keefe's ineptitude. Ferentz may be stubborn when it comes to making coaching staff changes, but he wouldn't keep KOK on if he didn't trust his decision making or his gameplans.

I'm sorry, but Keefe's ineptitude has cost us more scores and killed more drives that my brain could handle.

At a time when it seems like EVERY team out there is going to some kind of spread O' I would at least like us to throw a little spread in there every now and again. When WMU kicks our ass in IC and says after the game that they knew exactly what we were going to do on O' and D' then I am sorry KOK, but you need to pull your head out of your ass and implement some changes.
