Most of you won't care, some of you probably don't even appreciate the significance and the rest will have lots of smart-ass comments, but I am going to share anyway.
I have been hanging around with a local motorcycle club for awhile down here and several of the members are counted among my very best friends. The pictures of the shooting I posted a few months ago were from their shootout. Well, last spring I was asked if I wanted to join and became an official "hangaround." I was voted in as a prospect in early summer and this past weekend I was voted in as a patch holder - only the 3rd person to ever get in on the first vote. So I am now a proud member of the Rogues Motorcycle Brotherhood.
Like I said, most of you won't care one way or the other, but I am pretty fucking happy.

Count me in as the "rest". I'm glad you're happy; nobody likes a pissed off motorcycle gang member! So what does being a "patch" holder mean?

I think he's the one that holds onto and distributes the nicotine patches for those bikers looking to quit smoking. Am I right?

Close. "Patch holder" is "term of art" in the motorcycle world. It means I am a full member in a motorcycle club. Clubs wear "colors" which consist of several patches, the most important being the center patch - the logo of the club. When you are a patch holder, it means that you have the right to wear and display that patch and all club insignia.

What motorcycle club will you start a fight with first?

None! We like to hang out, ride out motorcycles and have a good time. Besides, the dominant club in this state is the Outlaws and I think they are better left alone, don't you?

Have motorcycle clubs/gangs gone soft? Aren't there anymore knife fights at road-side bars? I'm actually being serious....I'm curious to know.

Since last year when the Blue Knights and Hells Angels decided to shoot at each other in Sturgis?
The motorcycle club world is like the real world. Territories are staked out and the peace is kept unless they run into each other somewhere or a club wants to make a name for itself. That is when trouble starts. For example, in Georgia, everybody knows it is an Outlaws state and you deal with them. Unless some club like the Hells Angels from SC want to try and take over the state, there is no trouble. If that would happen, it would be very violent. And unlike street gangs, territories are not neighborhoods, they are states, or at least large regions, so the constant tussle over turf doesn't occur.
Have they gone soft? Hardly.

How much meth did you have to move to get initiated?

So you are here to try and sell us cookies so you can earn another patch?
How many kilo's of heroin do you have to transfer across state lines in your colon to earn the Mule Patch?

I see what's going on here. You need money to pay for your wife's surgery so you joined a biker gang to sell drugs because you are uninsured.
You should watch Breaking Bad, it will show you this type of plan doesn't always go as smooth as you would hope.

Keep it going, folks, you aren't disappointing me.
A serious response:
In the biker world, there is a hierarchy. At the top of the food chain are the 1%er clubs - Hell's Angels, Outlaws, Sons of Silence, Bandidos, Pagans, Warlocks, Mongols, etc. These are the clubs that actually claim territory. Whether or not they are criminal organizations is something I am not going to even discuss.
Next are the support clubs - Red Devils for the Angels, Black Pistons for the Outlaws (locally we have the Steel Horsemen for the Outlaws), etc. They are not actually part of the big club - more an auxiliary. They answer directly to the big clubs.
Next are the traditional three-piece patch clubs that are not part of that world. The national example would be the Boozefighters. Marlon Brando's movie "The Wild Ones" was based on them. They are included in the Harley-Davidson museum. We fall in this category. We do not wear an Outlaws support patch on our colors, although many clubs in the state do. Our first rule is family comes first. In the one-percenter world, the club comes first before all else. Kind of a subset of this category would be the law enforcement and armed forces clubs. There is structure and membership is granted only after some type of probationary period. You don't get to just sign up. Membership is a privilege and comes with major benefits and also major responsibility. It is a brotherhood in the trues sense of the word. This is what the club scene started out as back in the 30's and 40's.
After that are the rest - the two-piece and one-piece patch riding clubs, brand-specific riding clubs (HOG, Star Riders), etc. They are riding clubs, though, not MC's. The MC logo is specific to 3-piece traditional clubs and worn with the permission of the dominant one-percenter club in the state. These clubs are social organizations and usually you can join them just by asking.
Outside of this hierarchy are the sport bike clubs, urban clubs, black bike clubs, etc.

So if you guys parked your GoldWings down at the local IHOP and a real cycle club, such as the Mongols, came in, how bad would you guys get your asses kicked?
Where do the Christ Punchers fit in in terms of the hierarchy?

What about the El Forastero's?
I think they offered my dad to "take care of" my sisters first husband a long gone ago.

Sounds like a neat club. The boy scouts sell popcorn and the girl scouts-cookies. What do you guys sell for fundraisers. What is a equivalent patch as an Eagle scout in your club.
