Wood was named the Closer. Marguis was named the 5th starter. Leiber was put in the pen. I am fine with Leiber starting in the pen that guy was the biggest waste of however many million $ they gave him. And Wood scares the crap out of me in the closer role. Should be an interesting start of the season.

Who are the Cubs? Would I recognize them via any World Series titles they have won in the past? I'll start researching right away....

After my exhaustive research, it looks like they have gone 100 consecutive years of winning the World Series! Damn!....and I thought the Hawkeye Wrestling team was awesome. These Cubs you speak of must be the greatest team of all time in all of sports! I know this is an understatement, but Great job!

It seems as though I inadvertently left a critical word out of the previously stated research. That word is " never". Please slip the word " never" between the words " of" and " winning" ( highlighted in red). I hope this helps. Just another public service announcement from Iowafan1. GO ORIOLES!!!

Leiber in the rotation was not going to cut it for me. They paid WAY to much for homeboy to be back in Chi-town if you ask me.

What a shitty opening day so far. Weather wise at least. Fukudome doubled off the wall on his first pitch though.

Hope that's just cramping Z is dealing with. The way he was pulling his fingers coming off the mound would lead me to believe that's the case.
Come on guys...let's get a win here today.

According to Hughes and Santo is was cramping. Hope they're right. It would be too "Cub like" to lose our ace on opening day.

Wood wasn't the Wood we saw in Spring Training. Of course, he was facing a complete big league line-up. It'll be interesting to see if he can come back and dominate the way he did in spring.

First Cub game ever? Have fun, it's nearly a religious experience! I saw them play at the HHH dome in Minn. last year or the year before. Johan was pitching so they lost.

Ah, I see. I should have clarified: first Cub game at Wrigley. You'll have to fill us in on your experience. I've been to about 6-7, but haven't been in over 2 years. Truely a wonderful experience.

Wow this is a bad bad bad cubs team. Soriano is quickly moving up they "I ain't worth it" list. Today he is 0-4 so far with 4 lob. That's ok though right-it's not like he is in there to get rbi or anything. What a joke.
