Cubs lose 4-3 today. 1 and 3 on the year now. Not worried at all though. Long ass way to go.

Having Hill and Marquis pick up their first wins of the year is big. Now if we can just get Lilly to get his head in the game, I think we'll be sitting pretty. D-Lee leading the league in homers too!

Can we play the Pirates the rest of the year?

I really think the Cubs are the best team in the NL. They're just a half game behind the best record in baseball right now, and granted its April, but still. As the saying goes, you can't win an pennant in April, but you can sure lose one.

2-4 against Milwaukee and STL this week. Unacceptable. Hopefully the Cubs can get back on track against a weak Cincy team starting tonight.

Anyone up for flip-floping Marmol and Wood on the back end of the pen. Marmol should be the closer at this point if you ask me.

I also like the prospect of Fukudome in the lead off. Decent speed, patient hitter, great OBP, and has an all around great offensive arsenal (so far).

Agreed with both of you. I was at the game on Saturday, and Marmol has absolute shut down stuff. He's going to be the closer by the end of May.
Fukudome should be batting either 1 or 2 in the line up...move The Fonz down to either 5 or 6 in the line up...more RBI opportunities and not nearly as much pressure. He'll see more fastballs too. Put him in between Derek and Aramis and watch that BA and OBP start rising.

I know that Soriano is coming back from injury, and is destined to get back on track...but he's a strike-out liability - as of late late he's been swinging at EVERYTHING.

Soriano's batting a meager .173 or something like that. That's not going to get it done in the leadoff spot.

Cards up 2.5 games with a line-up that is supposed to have 1/2 the talent of the Cubbies. The Cubs don't and will never have the intangibles to win a WS. The Redbirds know how to win even with less talent and a drunk manager.......Viva la Pujols

Perhaps you should perform oral sex on yourselves in your own St. Louis Cardinal thread... Technically, neither the Cards nor the White Sox need their own thread. Their fans can come on here and remind the nitwit Cub "fans" that we have experienced the bliss of winning a World Series in our lifetimes. Hell, the Cubs are so bad that Iowa State has won a conference title in football more recently than the Cubs have won a World Series. CUBS SUCK!!! GO SOX!!!

Do you think you are rubbing salt in wound by bringing up the lack of World Series titles? Cub fans are certainly not oblivious to this fact. You're like an elitist OSU fan that comes to the Iowa boards to talk shit. I'm glad you enjoyed "bliss" when the White Sox won the series, because no one else really gave a shit.
