DJK @coachkoul Follow Book will be in Iowa and Ohio book stores mid summer 2014. Wow. Helluva distribution he got! Who's publishing this? Sears? Who is this kids agent? OK4P - I think you could have brokered a better deal. I think the distribution network is him packing up books in his mom's Subaru station wagon, and selling them in a Kun and Go parking lot in Story County, which is probably the only place he has any credibility.

While the result of the arrest eventually became a simple marijuana possession guilty plea, DJK was never able to find work in the NFL, despite having the physical talents necessary. Why do some people (dr0k) assume he was going to make the NFL? I think moast can agree McNutt was a better WR than DJK, and he's only been floating around practice squads the past few years. Ask AWOL(Tweeter) he thinks he will be playing on Sundays. With this gem from Jamesalkalina. "No question Derrell will be very successful in life." www.hawkeyenation.com/forum/football/21098-special-thanks-djk.html

NFL teams never have problems taking chances on players with shady pasts. But the talent has to be there.

" Derrell Johnson-Koulianos: Greg Chiakulas it doesnt matter anymore. some things are mean't to stay behind the hawkeye walls. that's the problem with the world these days. everyone is a sell out and rat. there are unwritten rules about loyalty. yeah we didnt get along but i have respect for him. he coached me tressel didnt urban meyer didnt. kf did. plus i have friends some which i consider family that i would never expose. go hawks!"

Wonder why that was scratched. Because The Brand is too damn good to be used as a clothesline for DJK's alleged dirty laundry, that's why.

LULZ I would love to see his response to this. I'd love to hear how poorly he was treated. He was never forced to be on that team. If you are treated shitty by someone or a group of people, and you have a choice to get out of said situation, then get out. If you don't, that's on you.

I'm not sure why this story pisses me off so much, but it does. What a whiny little bitch. Treated poorly? boohoo. So poorly that they forced him to fly home with his family after the Orange Bowl because he was hurt?

So poorly that they forced him to fly home with his family after the Orange Bowl because he was hurt? It happens all over just a bigger story because it DJK and so many of the Iowa Derp fan base loved the guy even though pretty much everyone on and around the team knew that he was a fucking piece of shit and total asshole. There are more and more of his teammates coming out saying what it was truly like to have DJK as a teammate. And plenty to come I'm sure. The saddest part is all of the Iowa fans that think KF blackballed him at the time of the draft. Or those that still think KF did something differently than any other coach in America would have done if they had an asshole like DJK that had no respect for authority.

Isn't KF blackballing DJK a total non story? I kinda assume that he did, and kinda agree that he did the right thing.
Let's deal with a couple facts.
1) KF can't blackball anyone, he can only offer opinions 2) If a GM cares enough about his opinion to NOT draft someone, than he cares enough about his opinion to consider drafting somebody. Doesn't Kirk have a responsibility to protect the players that are constructive members of his program?

Just because they didnt say anything nice about him - which they didn't have to - he had workouts and the combine to prove himself. He didn't. He didn't even prove himself in the Arena League nor the CFL. And he says "I didn't care about football after getting in trouble". Ok, well the NFL was after he got in trouble. That excuse holds no water.
