Personally it's a toss-up between In-N-Out's Double Double Animal Style (Extra Toast), the Tommy's Chilicheeseburger and the Jack-in-the-Box Double Bacon Cheeseburger

In N Out consistently best burger. Every once in a great while when a waterhead with Downs is working at Wendy's, you can order a Triple and I shit you not, it is pure bliss. Maybe you're infused by an osmosis effect of Retard Strong, but you find yourself giddy and able to lift small vehicles afterwards. I wish Jermaine, the weekend manager, would put our friend, Abner on the schedule more often and let him ehind the grill in between his stints cleaning the shitters with nothihing but a moist towlette.

Speaking of In&Out... When I lived in Cali I'd like to think I had the menu pretty well figured out, but we had some visitors from out of town, and took them there.
I usually got 2 double doubles, but this time I wanted a 4 patty sandwich... so I quickly thought to myself.... A double double = 2... so a 6x6 = 3 And an 8x8 must = 4
I have no idea WTF I was thinking. I look at this frigging "sandwich" they had to lay sideways in a french fry "tray"... with 8 patties, 8 pieces of cheese and 2 sorry buns on the ends that bravely tried to soak up all the grease.
It became my "Brewster's Millions" moment for In & Out...

Hardee's old Ultimate Bacon Cheeseburger. Lock. No contest. Oval-like bun. Big rectangular patty. Bacon strips fit on it perfectly providing the precise bacon to bun to cheese to burger ratio. They'll never make another burger like that again. Ever.

When all you guys are in the hospital having your quadruple bypass and spending 3 or 4 weeks in ICU i'll be on the floor below because I "only" needed a double bypass due to just eating a good old fashioned double cheeseburger.

I have a hard time putting the words "favorite" and "fast-food" together in the same sentence.
In that category, I would have to go with Portillos. Mucho better than any of the typical fast-food joints.

However, those burgers are pretty damn good.

I almost never eat fast food, and we're unfortunate enough to not have In-n-Outs here... But I must confess I do have a weakness for a Double Quarter Pounder From MacDo. Otherwise, not really any at all. I did try a burger at Sonic once. That was the wettest burger ever. I swear they prepared that thing under water. Sucked.

Just ate at my very first In-n-Out last Sunday morning at about 3:30 a.m. in Vegas at I-15 and Tropicana.
Not sure if it was the beer I had from 9am to 9pm, or the 6 Long Island Iced Teas I had after that. But those were some SERIOUS good burgers.....those sammiches were so good, I was tasting the sommbitches well into Sunday night.
In Iowa, I'd have to go with Hardees, with Culvers a close second (although I don't eat them anymore, that In-n-Out was my first fast food burger this year).

In'N'Out's double-double animal style is the best burger anywhere.

Speaking of wet fast food burgers, that reminds me of a story (that BTR may or may not have told in the past).
A couple years ago, BMCLF had a summer intern who claimed he could eat a Big Mac in 2 bites. He apparently made this claim at the beginning of the program and repeatedly over the course of the summer, so of course by the end people were challenging him to put up or shut up. One of the other interns booked a conference room and about 30 attorneys and interns piled in to watch this kid try to take down a Big Mac in 2 bites.
One of the interns was responsible for running across the street to McDonald's to get the Big Mac, but before he went BTR told him "make sure you have them put as much special sauce as humanly possible on that burger." When they opened the package, the thing was just dripping special sauce and the kid trying to eat it in 2 bites said "wow, that's a wet burger." Needless to say, once the sauce started dripping all over the guys hands, he wasn't able to do it in 2 bites. He was pretty close to. I think he would have had it if BTR hadn't skunked him.

culver's or wendy's are the only two decent places to get burgers Here in Iowa that is true. But I had heard the legend of the In N Out Burger and when the wife and I were in San Fran last year I had one. It's not even close. In N Out by a landslide.

I'd say Fuddrucker's, but to me, if it doesn't have a drive-thru, it's not fast food.
I'd probably go with B-Bops double with cheese.

Not a 'burger' but the Arby's Italian toasted sub isn't too bad. I usually don't order food. I eat my kids leftovers which is usually a few bites of a Double Quarter Pounder w/cheese or a McChicken sandwich.
I'm just waiting for the breakfast menu's to go 24/7. I'm surprised this hasn't happened already. Hopefully soon.
I've never been to an In and Out or a White Castle. Are there any in Iowa?
We hit Fuddruckers when we are in S.C. Good food and atmosphere. Are there Fudds in Iowa?

I've never been to an In and Out or a White Castle. Are there any in Iowa? There aren't. But go ahead and skip the White Castle. It's a favorite of drunks and stoners, and for good reason. It is cheap, and not good, but if you are drunk/stoned you don't notice the latter.
