Yesterday I went on my deck to look between the cracks at some baby Robbins. It's the second nest under the deck this year. I probably only looked at it for about 20 seconds. Long enough to see they had got their feathers. Last week when they were bald I could see little bugs/mites crawling on them.
After I was done looking I stood up and as I was turning could feel something in my right arm. I looked down and imy hand wrist and lower foremarm was covered in these little bird mites. Hundreds of them! Then I felt them on my face and head. I ran into my bathroom and looked in the mirror and they were crawling everywhere. They are smaller than this period at the end of this sentence.
I rinsed them off my wrist in the sink and immediately jumped in the shower. (Shower outside would have been good to have) and left shampoo in my head for several minutes and scrubbed and scrubbed. I put on clean clothes and washed the others.
Then I stared reading about fucking bird mites. If you don't want to start scratching, don't google bird mite stories online. Apparently your house can become infested. I couldn't stop thinking about it last night...and scratching, so my husband gave me a half an Ativan.
Apparently they will bite people but don't like our blood. I'm telling you when those things swarmed me by the hundreds it was pretty freaky. Did any of you see the movie Red Planet where the Mars astronaut gets swarmed by thousands of 'nematodes" and so he kills himself with some sort of bomb? I felt like that but all I had was a big sparkler.

sounds like an invite for all night He'd feel at home on my prole deck. It's currently off limits to anyone. And the dog. Once those babies leave the nest the pesticides are coming out. And I won't allow anymore bird homes to be built there.

aaaannnnnd there it is, pesticides. WE MUST KILL EVERYTHING THAT WE FEAR AND/OR DON'T UNDERSTAND!!! GET THE POISON OUT!!! Hey mother fucker, those fucking mites started it. Gingy came in piece, and those fux went after her. It's her prerogative to escalate in kind.
