Gerg meant that to happen. That wasn't Gerg, that was Joke. I was a BIG Joke over Beat Hard supporter after the Outback Bowl, but Joke played a complete shit game yesterday. I don't give a shit that he had a good completion percentage. He was given a lot of shit for INT's last year but he isnt going to be effective if he dumps down every fucking play because he is scared to throw down field. He has not even played a top secondary yet.

GD runs a Sail Boat Offense. There are not many throws inside of 30 degrees.

Fucking BTN showed 14 seconds of Iowa game highlights. Jesus, fuck, there is 44 minutes of content in a one hour show and those fuckers gave no time to Iowa - I have no fucking clue if they're going to actually show the fucking game today because the BTN schedule is all jacked up (or maybe it isn't and they rseally are showing the Michigan and Nebraska games from yesterday a total of 8 fucking times). Anyway, I heard that our secondary is so fucking bad that Tanner Miller and Adam Shada would be a welcome sight. True? I heard our linebackers got torched (which was mah biggest concern going into the season). True? How does Rudock look? Is the offense truly fucking worse than O'Keefe's? It is pathetic. I forgot to record the game on the premiere statilite statiion and now all the BTN shows me 60 minute replays with unannounced teams. URR MICHIGAN,RUTGERS, OHIO STATE. Fuck this I can not waste a day or week waiting for the Hawks.

This was an unusual game in that it was one of the very rare instances in which teh Hokks' most valuable players were wearing black and white stripes. UNI got tagged 16 times for 128 yards, Iowa only four for 35 yards. Several of their penalties were real killers -- keeping an Iowa drive alive, giving teh Hokks much better field position or stalling one of their own drives. (An early TD was called back for a hold IIRC and UNI wound up with only a FG on that series.) It's not that Iowa unfairly benefited from some home cooking. All 16 penalties were gotten the hard way -- they were earned. On one series the same UNI player was flagged for offside on two consecutive downs. If UNI had played a cleaner game, the outcome likely would have been different. They were beating teh Hokks in several areas or at least sticking with big brother for three-fourths of the game. But they play four quarters in college and conservative Kurt prevailed in the end. Yeah you can play the what if game. You also have to remember things would had been played differently by Iowa without the help.

All 16 penalties were gotten the hard way -- they were earned. On one series the same UNI defender was flagged for offside on two consecutive plays on third down, giving Iowa a first down on a drive that ultimately resulted in an Iowa field g If UNI had played a cleaner game, the outcome likely would have been different. They were beating teh Hokks in several areas or at least sticking with big brother for three-fourths of the game. But they play four quarters in college and conservative Kurt prevailed in the end. You saw about the same game that I did. If UNI had not been taken out of touchdown position in the south end zone the score could have changed.

As previously stated, once again, at the end of a half where we could have scored a TD, clock management was a cluster f$ck. OL couldn't contain UNI's DL. We ran poorly. However, Ruddock was never sacked. He also didn't throw an INT. Then again, he didn't throw much downfield. LB's got torched. UNI knew they were raw. Exploited it over and over. Shada? Shada? Ruddock under-threw all day. Then, with #18 (Willies) open by 7 yards, he overthrows and Willies has to make a hellofa catch. Saved Ruddock on that one. Beathard? Beathard? #13 CB got picked on all day, mainly because #14 is a stud. His INT at the end of the game was offset by KF yelling at him to simply fall down rather than try for a TD. Killjoy. Punter kicked like my dead grandmother. Gave UNI field position over and over. Mason's Hitler minions were out in full force. Only 66K tickets purchased total. Actual attendance was probably 3K less than that even. (See above) Audio system was WAY TOO LOUD. Cripes, add speakers throughout Kinnick instead of trying to blast it out of one end, and turn it down. My new re-seated seats were awesome. Not everyone got hosed. Ginger actually showed up to Ron's with more than 15 minutes left before kickoff. That's a win for us all!

The end of the first half wasn't bad clock management, it was Rudock being a dipshit and not knowing the situation. With 20 seconds and three time outs, instead of throwing in the middle of the field, he threw a 2 yard drag. I don't think the OL did that bad of a job. We ran poorly, but early in the game, we ran fine. It was only after UNI realized they only needed to defend the pass 5 yards deep that the run game suffered. Also, didn't that guy who intercepted the ball also fumble it when he got tackled, and that's why Kurt was after him for not going down?

I thought I read somewhere that Kirk wanted him down to stop the clock or something. Hell that was last night, I don't remember now.

Also not mentioned is we seem to have real depth everywhere except maybe o line and the LB position. At least seven played on the DL. We played four RB and I think five TE's. We had four wide outs contribute on offense and another on punt and kick returns.
Bottom line is we have a deep bench.

As for LB, they just need to stay healthy to continue to get game action to know what the fuck they are doing. I also was pleasantly surprised by our cover teams.
