I don't think that's true. The price at the end of the pipeline will be the same if it goes on a tanker or is pumped into one of our refineries. The difference is we would not have to added on the tanker delivery cost so we can buy it for less than the chinese could. Why is that so hard to understand? There is also the fact that tar sands oil is of much lower quality than traditionally drilled oil, and sells for about 25% less because of that. Candian oil is shitty, and it's being shipped to the gulf, instead of being refined in the States, because Midwest refineries are busy refining the higher quality, domestic Bakken oil, and have no desire to refine the shitty tar sand oil, and there is no domestic market for it. For fucks sake, Canada is the largest market for American oil.

Billy you should quit posting on this topic. There is no foreign market for US oil as it is agin the law for us to export oil. Refined oil products are another mater, but that isnt what we are talking about here.

Also, with the Saudi's basically flooding the market with oil right now, tar sands oil is losing money bince it costs so much moar to produce than drilling, that basically it's a low-quality, more expensive product right now.
Right now, even if the pipeline was in use, which would significantly drop the price oil tar sands oil, it would sell for roughly $85 a barrel. Traditionally produced crude is currently selling for about $75.

I rest my case. i know we give big oil subsidies as well, but that is only so that lobbyists can line the pockets of our elected officials. Big oil would still function without the subsidies. The same can not be said of wind and solar. Wind and solar should be given massive subsidies for R&D, but it makes zero sense to subsidize todays uneconomic "commercial" installations.

Billy when you compare those puny numbers with our massive imports (which are largely from Canada). They are not worth mentioning. I am curious as what sort of loophole is being exploited and for whose benefit that slight trickle of oil is allowed to creep across our border.

Why would an American oil company want to unload their crude on a Canadians companies line to be processed and sold to other countries? JFC you're stupid. Who could guess that little brother would try so hard to match the derp of his bff. Don't worry, you already cemented your fame as most worthless poster. No need to keep trying harder.

I am curious as what sort of loophole is being exploited and for whose benefit that slight trickle of oil is allowed to creep across our border. That wasn't the point I was making. My point was the Canadians have enough oil to use themselves three times over, but they still import oil. It doesn't matter where it comes from. In fact, Canadians import about 40% of the oil they use. Of the domestic oil they use for themselves? Almost none of it is tar sand oil. It's cheaper to import oil than to transport tar sand oil to places in Canada where people live. Why don't the Canadians build a pipeline for them to better use their own oil, instead of shipping it to the US? No really, why?

I'm not sure that pipeline is a good idea... I'm also not sure that you oil addicts ever know what you're talking about. Save the environment! But keep my tank full so I can get to Caseys! More nuclear! Just mine the uranium where it won't interfere with wildlife and habitat!
But I've never been more certain of anything in my life than scooter knows exactly nothing about engineering or environmental science of any kind. Vin comments, you jump on board. Lololol.

When the right blocks legislation, they are racist bastards. When the left does the same, they are protecting ignorant proles from the desires of the oligarchy. Is that about correct?
