Clearly there are parts of Arkansas that the OP has not been to if he thinks Harrison is as bad as it gets. Try holding that sign up in Eldorado and see how that works. There are some subhuman motherfuckers in that state. You're right. Most people have no idea how bad it is. A veritable witch's brew of scary white trash. It was shocking to me when we moved there. There are parts of the souf that have not changed at all since the end of the civil war. Eldorado Arkansas is still completely segregated. You have to see it to believe it.

JFC, Now they want to cancel teaching history in Illinois until they can come up with suitable material that will not perpetuate systemic racism.

JFC, Now they want to cancel teaching history in Illinois until they can come up with suitable material that will not perpetuate systemic racism. It needs something. We were never taught anything about the Tulsa riot or Juneteenth in small town Iowa school. I was kind of shocked just learning about it this summer. At my age. What else did they shield us from? And no, I did not attend college and learn all this. So I am not alone. And I am pissed.

And no, I did not attend college and learn all this. So I am not alone. And I am pissed. There are numerous issues presented with teaching history in public education. First and foremost you have to teach to roughly the level of the dumbest kid in the class. Second, as Marxist identity politburos have taken over, you end up with a litany of people who want grievances aired (and to be fair, the same side of a different coin was prevalent in the South with a bunch of revisionist confederate history that becomes "fact" to a bunch of people as well). The Illinois law in question that this gentleman wants amended provides an example of identity politics in action. See below. What this leads to is a bunch of morons graduating who have learned about shit that is immaterial in the grand scheme, such as say the Stonewall Riots, but they know literally nothing about incredibly material shit in the grand scheme, like how Israel came to be or how Hong Kong became a British possession after the first Opium War and they have no god damned idea about why billions of people hate the West to this day and are working overtime to destroy it. I think the various and sundry so-called "people's movements" in the US are an interesting story and that they have some place in the classroom. If you personally want to learn more about them, the seminal source is Howard Zinn's book "A People's History of the United States." I recommend that you read it as an adult if you haven't already and are interested in those sorts of stories. The guy is an ardent leftist and embellishes plenty of shit, but I think you would appreciate that book. Here is the current status of Illinois law (the politician's proposed amendments are actually just adding lines 21-23, which I'm sure is already taught). legiscan.com/IL/text/HB4954/2019 Sec. 27-21. History of United States. History of the United 2 States shall be taught in all public schools and in all other 3 educational institutions in this State supported or 4 maintained, in whole or in part, by public funds. The teaching 5 of history shall have as one of its objectives the imparting to 6 pupils of a comprehensive idea of our democratic form of 7 government and the principles for which our government stands 8 as regards other nations, including the studying of the place 9 of our government in world-wide movements and the leaders 10 thereof, with particular stress upon the basic principles and 11 ideals of our representative form of government. The teaching 12 of history shall include a study of the role and contributions 13 of African Americans and other ethnic groups, including, but 14 not restricted to, Polish, Lithuanian, German, Hungarian, 15 Irish, Bohemian, Russian, Albanian, Italian, Czech, Slovak, 16 French, Scots, Hispanics, Asian Americans, etc., in the history 17 of this country and this State. To reinforce the study of the 18 role and contributions of Hispanics, such curriculum shall 19 include the study of the events related to the forceful removal 20 and illegal deportation of Mexican-American U.S. citizens 21 during the Great Depression. The teaching of history shall 22 include the study of the American civil rights renaissance, 23 that period of time from 1954 to 1965 called the Movement. In 24 public schools only, the teaching of history shall include a 25 study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, 26 and transgender people in the history of this country and this State.

Uh, if you do American history chronologically you pretty much cover the arrival and treatment of immigrants. You'd think conservatives or whatever they fuck they are these days would want actual, accurate American history taught so they could proclaim how much less fucked things are today by comparison in God's Greatest Nation On Earth.

Apparently the Kenosha court house was allegedly set on fire after trying to use a counterfeit $10 bill and for resisting fire.
