I've taken 10 or so online. Fwiw, I got A's in all of my online courses. Mostly math courses, but a few in different areas. I liked the not needing to go to class aspect, as I could schedule when I was going to master the material. IMO, if a math or statistics type course, I recommend doing the practice problems. For those courses, I found myself learning more through practice (95%) vs. the book. Plus it allowed you to understand the peculiarities of how you will need to enter answers via the online portals. As an adult, you will have a much easier time mastering the courses than when you were young. Thanks SoCal. I had finished about 90 hours toward my BSN when I was at Iowa....30 years ago! I recently asked admissions if there was anyway in hell my prior courses would count toward any degree and they said absolutely. They gave me some options towards finishing a BS in either liberal studies or Radiation science. Pretty sure I'm going to do the latter...an RT to BS program. I'd have to complete 30 hours with a choice of specialty and I'd choose the specialty I already have advanced certification in. So it seems like it would be easy and as you say, it would be easier than when I was younger in some ways. It would be a big time commitment so that exercise program I've been putting off for the last 20 years would have to go to the back burner for a while.... If I did the "full time" option I could be done in about 3 semesters. Even though I live out of state apparently it's "in state tuition", so that's a plus and they treat me like a simple returning student and I don't have to retake classes. And then when I'm all done, Erik can't call me a tavern hawk no more... As an adult, you know to read the syllabi and schedule things. As long as you do the assignments and complete your big projects, you are all but guaranteed a good grade. With the online ability (sometimes) to do things early, I chose to knock off my projects/papers early so I didn't have to worry about them for when other things got hard / I became busy. Also, though it may sound corny... I was worried before I started back that through High School & College 1.0, I really had no clue how to study. I purchased this video and got some great tips. www.thegreatcourses.com/courses/how-to-become-a-superstar-student-2nd-edition.html - The price on the site is inflated... if you look online or magazines (Discover, Smithsonian, PopSci, etc.) you can find coupon codes that make it around $20.

I might homeschool part time... Mentor at home...don't home school. I'm smarter than any teacher my child could have.

I retired from education because of the low pay. I certainly didn't resign quietly to avoid a PR disaster...

Perfect timing by boosting this thread. Just got one myself. Dishwasher wasn't heating...assumed a heating element out with dishwasher, ordered new one and put in. Dishwasher still not heating. First Google search result showed my same model with a part that takes 5 min to swap.
Why didn't I just search for that first?

Chronically underfunded education and a propaganda campaign that vilifies teachers and scientists has been the conservative plan for about 30 years.

Idiocracy baby! They are too dumb to know how dumb they are, they may have met someone actually dumber than they are once... so they retained the memory of being smart, they are the core pro-wrestling / GOP demographic.

Idiocracy baby! They are too dumb to know how dumb they are, they may have met someone actually dumber than they are once... so they retained the memory of being smart, they are the core pro-wrestling / GOP demographic. So...OK4P? Nah, I've lived in places run by staunch conservatives and staunch liberals. CPS spends an ungodly amount of money on a per student basis, but a huge chunk of that is to fund post-retirement obligations. My son missed 7 weeks of school at the end of the 2019-2020 school year, but was back in the saddle for the 2020-21 school year. The CTU, along with many other city teachers' unions, refused to return to work lest their teaching from the beach plans be scuttled. I'd never ever ever ever ever ever send my son to public school in a leftist utopia, particularly after the last few years. Ultimately if your parents don't teach you to read and how to do math and if your parents don't confer some IQ on you, all the money in the world spent on schooling isn't going to do jack fuck. In fact, spending too much on that shit is as foolish as me spending $500k on training and camps trying to get my son to play in the NBA. It's never going to fucking happen. Not everyone can do algebra or differential equations.
