Back when I lived in DSM, most cougar sightings were in West Des Moines and Waukee. Back when I lived in Neck Moines, Waukee was a two lane highway with a Casey's, a laundromat, car wash and video rental place. No cougs, though. I saw some article the other day that said Ankeny is over 60,000 people now. I can't comprehend Ankeny being that big.

When I was in high school at Dowling, we had a few farm kids that were from Waukee. Nothing but grain bins there. When was the last time you were back? I moved from Des Moines in ‘97. I go back a few times per year and I’m always amazed at how it’s grown and the areas around. It’s a fucking pain in the ass to drive from visiting my mom on the south side by the airport to my MIL on the north side near 30th and Hickman. Takes a half hour to do that. I’ve gotten used to living in Rochester where the longest drive is 15 minutes but most places I can leave 5-10 minutes before I’m supposed to be there and get there on time.

Moved away in May 2000 and have spent approximately 10 days there bince then. I drove down Highway 141 coming back from Dodge a few Christmases ago. I didn't like it. I remember when Beaver Run Golf Course opened out there on 141 and it was the only fucking thing around. Now there is shit all over the place. The problem in the Midwest is there is no topographical change and everything is just a never ending grid. There is something unsettling about it. It does make it much easier to get around, though. Some retard hit a transformer by my house last week blocking one entrance and I had to drive like 7 fucking miles to go in the other way because the road system was built around foot and horse paths that predate the Civil War and there are too many big hills for them to slice roads straight through where it would make sense. It's okay, though, because yesterday I got a text from my mom saying it was 39 degrees in Neck Moines and I'm right on the edge of the mountains, so I'll take the moderately inconvenient traffic over the nut punch cold and flatness.

Back then, you could go 70 down 141 and there was no traffic and no lights until you got up by the interstate. I'm sure that thing sucks fucking donkey balls now and it will get way worse if Grimes and Granger grow like hell. It's just piss poor road design and I could tell that was going to be the case 20 years ago from the number of fucking morons trying to turn into 60-70 mph traffic from a dead stop. There is a similar road down by Indianola on Highway 65 and one of my high school classmates died there two summers ago when some fuckstick pulled out in front of him. Those roads with high speed limits and T-intersections that don't have limited access on ramps are just a total fucking recipe for disaster. It's fine for out in the middle of nowhere, but even when they re-did those main highways around Des Moines, it was pretty fucking clear that the traffic on those roads was quickly going to exceed the safe capacity for those roads.

When I was a kid, there was one fucking gas station between 80/35 where 141 starts and highway 17 near granger. We called it the Autobahn of Death cuz it was only 2 lanes but people drove 80 fucking mph. Horrible accidents at the Woodward curve on a regular basis. I survived two fucking rollover accidents on that motherfucker, once as a toddler and once as an adult.

That thing has been 4 lanes for probably 25 years if I'm not mistaken. Before Beaver Run opened I used to golf at Jester Park a lot and I vaguely remember them doing the 4 lane conversion. Must have been around '90 or '91. Jesus Christ, dude, we're fucking old as shit.

My car rolled several times and almost flipped into a big cat earthmover and there were construction workers at the scene. Some fuckhole came flying over a crest and almost hit me head on in my lane and forced me to ditch. Blew out a cervical disk.

Their bumbling weakness in the face of evil makes me hate them. Nobody will ever take them seriously until they actually do something and they will only weaken themselves. The newer to congress people get it and want to move forward, but Fuck Nancy. I didn't want her to be the speaker because she's just another life long Politician milking the system for her own personal profit and motives. Wanna shake shit up Dems? Make AOC speaker in 2020. She will make shit happen and not be afraid to go right after those vapor having, male page sucking, russia loving cunts.

Amen. The government has an unlimited spigot lending money to people to buy houses on 3% down and then instead of saying "hey, maybe it's a shitty idea to let people buy houses with 3% down because they have a really fucking high default rate" dipshits blame the government that proles can't pay their fucking bills.
