My work place does this kind of feel good bullshit all of the time. They want people to dress up in red, take pictures and then send them in so they can plaster them on the intranet to show how much we “support” heart health. They used to request we wear red on valentine days but apparently that’s gone out the window. I’m not sure why they think wearing a particular color of clothing supports shit (unless it rainbow for the gays of course) I never participate. They’ll be reminding us daily now to do this.
Maybe I should gather up a few fat people if work with and we can all go to a bar wearing red but take our picture as we are sitting at a table of bacon and fries and grilled burgers and steak and some ice cream and of course booze and see it that gets in the video.
“<My workplace> Marketing & Communications Department is planning to create a video in honor of American Heart Health Month and we would like your photos!
We invite all <my workplace> staff to submit a photo of you and/or your department while wearing RED in support of Heart Health! We understand that not everyone can wear red clothing to work. Please check with your supervisor to ensure you are able to wear red for a photo, or feel free to take a photo on your lunch break or before/after work! Other options for taking a photo are to wear a red scarf/pin or another item containing RED.
You are welcome to write a sentence or two about why you support AMERICAN HEART HEALTH MONTH and email it along with your photo. Photos should be submitted no later than Friday, January 31 at 12 noon. Due to the tight turn-around time in creating the video, we cannot guarantee that photos submitted after the deadline will be able to be used.
Please send all photos to: <my workplace>“
