Nada. Only a non-achy fever & mismatched chills or sweats (chills or sweats may or may not happen with fever). 3 years ago I had very similar symptoms. Spent a week in the hospital with sepsis. Sounds about right. Socal you need to go to your doctor.

Not necessarily, there’s a lot different ways for sepsis occur including having a latent infection in your body that can suddenly take hold. Strep throat can also lead to sepsis.

Despite 5 Covid tests this cycle saying I'm negative, the mucus I've been generating this afternoon is leading me that way again.

They never did find the cause of mine. Had to try multiple antibiotics to find what would work. Never had so much blood drawn. Had to go in for infusion IV every day for two weeks after leaving hospital.

Blood tests showed low RBC/Hematocrit/Hemoglobin. Slightly elevated Neutrophils & Monocytes... slightly low Lymphocytes. A C-Reactive Protein of 17.5 (normal 0-1)
Took an iron pill and awaiting Dr's advice on the other. Likely get an antibiotic.

Just a thought but it might not hurt (if you think it necessary) to remind your doctor that it is possible for two things to be true at once. I would insist on an absolute stem to stern work up in your situation.

What the hell caused that? No idea. My thoughts are residual damage from my December bout of Rona... Or possibly reflux aspiration from a few months ago. Or both... Not sure.

Not sure. Glad you got that figured out. Covid could be a very likely reason, something like 14% of intubated Covid patients go on to develop a lung abscess afterwards.

So when do you go to pulmonologist? You absolutely have to follow up on this. I imagine you’ll have frequent chest X-rays in the next few weeks while you’re getting IV antibiotics at home. They’re going to send you home with that PICC line right?

They’re going to send you home with that PICC line right? Saw the pulmonologist and an infectious disease guy. I'm admitted until at least tomorrow. They will install the picc the last day and I'll be coming back for regular updates/scans to see how things go. I'd be fine if they just knocked me out and took out the melon baller. Seriously though. I feel nothing. Haven't had 1 bout of chills or sweats today, so that is good I guess.
