They were quarantined as soon as they got back, not to worried about these three in terms of community spread. You used the wrong to

Well, guess I won't be going to DC next week since they moved everything remote for our meetings due to Corona.

Sounds like all State run colleges going to finish the semester on line.

Sounds like all State run colleges going to finish the semester on line. Great, take 30,000 students from the only city in iowa with reported cases and redistribute them across the midwest. What a plan.

in an earlier post I said we would find out how bad this turns out to be once it hits a western country where the news is not so censored. This sounds absolutely terrifying.

Holy shit that stat article kinda makes me want to pack up my shit and WFH for a couple of weeks.
And sounds like quite a few colleges are shutting down for the rest of the semester and are pushing everyone to do online studies. Wonder if they will refund housing and meal plans for them? Nahhh.
Makes me wonder when daycares and other public schools will make the same type of call and how the fuck will parents WFH and then try to get their fucking 1st grader to learn school shit? Spring break is here next week and not sure what they will do should they make that decision and for how long.

I still think this sumnabitch is gonna stall the minute we get temps north of 60 for a prolonged period in much of the country.

in an earlier post I said we would find out how bad this turns out to be once it hits a western country where the news is not so censored. This sounds absolutely terrifying. You’re in Rochester, yes? One of the Mayos or related facility? Are you guys reorganizing for what’s (supposedly) about to hit? Shit this stuff is scary. L Best wishes to all in health care right now. Doing the work of angels. I work at another hospital system in Rochester. Yesterday there were some admin people walking around with people I don’t recognize and I talked to one admin person and they were going to talk to our radiologist about their COVID19 plan. Who knows what that is going to be. My daughter who’s a nurse at Mayo, has been working as a float in outpatient areas has been pulled to be part of a team that takes calls from patients to screen for COVID19. She switched to this job a year ago from working a very demanding job working an inpatient floor dealing with lung problems. I hope she can stay behind the phone. Her husband is also an nurse practitioner and manages inpatient transplant patients. He has had a Heart transplant 10 years ago himself. He’s incredibly healthy. He’s extremely concerned and is trying to work with Mayo and his doctors to figure out what he should be doing. My daughter and him are very protective of him and avoid germs. We’ve missed several family holidays with them because someone in our family had a cold or cough. A cold that take 2-3 weeks for normal people can take him months to get over. I don’t know how Mayo is going to handle this. On any given “normal” day their ER is crazy busy. I’ve waited hours to be seen for myself or my family. Last spring I was there with one of my small bowel obstructions and it cleared in the six hours I waited in agony in the waiting room while waiting with other folks with obvious broken limbs and other illnesses. They get traumas from surrounding areas and that can grind things to a halt in the ER. They have several large clinics in town that they are talking about designating them for COVID19 only. I would think they would need to start canceling all elective surgeries as soon as this hits rochester if it hasn’t already. The last place I’d want to be right now is in a hospital as a patient. My oldest daughter also works at mayo in the OB floor. I think once patients start coming in with this you wouldn’t want to go home and expose your family to it.

You guys realize that EVERY LAST ONE OF US is gonna be exposed to this, right?
RIGHT?
All of the hoarding of Purell and Lysol and Charmin (WHAT THE FUCK, HUMANS?) isn't gonna stop it.
You're all exposed, and there's nothing you can do about it.

You're all exposed, and there's nothing you can do about it. First of all, no, there will not be a 100% transmission rate. Second of all, yes, a lot of people are going to get sick but the very important point is that they must not get sick all at the same time. We need to spread this shit out over time because if we don't that's when scary shit happens so please don't throw up your hands and say there is nothing you can do. There is something everyone can do and that is try to prevent yourself from contacting this shit for as long as possible.

Whats interdasting (and my interdasting I mean terrifying) about dis attorney case in NY is that 1 dude infected at least 50 other people in the span of like two days, including his son who attends college. This fing is contagious as fuck. Once it reaches critical mass its over.

Here’s some more info. It’s been nice knowing you fuckers. I think the kids are spreading this shit. My granddaughter started coughing and had a high fever the day after she was at our house last Saturday and had been dealing with 103 degree fever. Over Half her class at daycare has been out sick

They have slowed this down in China and Korea by making everyone stay home.

I think the people that are hoarding do believe it’s going to be bad. The ones that aren’t doing anything to prepare are going to be hosed. And of course the poors can’t prepare. The reason we got extra food is in case we did get sick then we aren’t going to need to go and expose more people, and if they do make people stay home or stores close because of mass illness, we still have enough to get by. I have at least three coworkers that are going on their vacations, damn it! They figure they’ll be fine. I went up to Minneapolis last night to a jazz bar and who knows what I could have picked up.
