What people aren’t thinking about is cold and flu season. If you’re not wearing a mask then you are also risking getting a cold. You’ll get that scratchy sore throat, headache And cough and then you’ll either freak because you may have covid or maybe you’ll have covid but think you have a cold and expose everyone to it because it’s “just a cold”. The testing centers will be a shit show; worse than they are now. But if everyone wore masks you’ll cut down the incidence of cold and flu as well.
I have family members waiting 3-4 days to get a time slot to be tested because they “think” they might have covid because of mild symptoms and a recent exposure. Are they staying home quarantined until they have the test and get results? Nope.

We’re in a good place concerning Covid-19. First place! Some people are so sick of all this winning they are fucking dead. MAGA!

The Japanese could pull that off. Americans have a snowballs chance in Hades.

There will be massive nationwide teacher strikes this fall given the covid situation and vacuum of leadership.

There will be massive nationwide teacher strikes this fall given the covid situation and vacuum of leadership. Very likely. You can't just throw everyone back together and just hope it's going to be okay, it won't be and we have data sets for this now. Shit is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets better.

There will be massive nationwide teacher strikes this fall given the covid situation and vacuum of leadership. I hope you're right. The tax bases in the states with really strong teachers unions are completely fucked and getting fat fucks like Karen Lewis into a massive crowd during the middle of The Germ will thin the herd. The towns will honestly be able to tell the teachers to get fucked in the ear this time around and they won't get back pay. Homeschooling will take hold and shrink the labor pool, taxpayers will save money, fewer kids will be in the Marxist indoctrination centers. Gawd, this is the perfect fucking storm. My school already has a couple hybrid plans in place and is set for full steam ahead. Gotta get that boy learning Mandarin so he can be a prison guard in one of the gulags once the ChiComms take what's left of this country over. You guys will be all like "Hey, aren't you OK4P's kid? Can you sneak me a Snickers bar?" I've had him watching Empire of the Sun and Unbroken so he knows what will be expected of him. I turn each of them off liek 10 minutes before the end, too.

Yeah no if COVIDAGEDDON has done anything, it has disabused tens of millions of parents of the notion of homeschooling their kids. We are doing a hybrid thing and it's going to be a colossal pain in the ass.

I just hope the boy can pick up Mandarin over the damned computer and doesn't default to trying to speak Japanese. It's only pre-K and they don't get super intense on it until kindergarten, but it would be really nice if he was able to actually go to school 5 days a week to really get his spirit broken by a fully immersive east Asian educational experience. Oh well. At least Ma is getting him writing some more complicated characters so he will be able to read a little bit of the shit they push out.

My neighbor is a teacher and she really cares about the kids. She said she'd work, but she said the problem, at least down here, probably won't be the teachers, but rather the support staff that makes the operation run. The lunch ladies, bus drivers, janitors, admins, etc. She said the busing issue is probably going to be the highest hurdle because they can't run the buses at capacity and they don't think they'll be able to get enough drivers. That's a big issue here because the county is massive and runs up into the mountains on the NC border and there are some really long bus routes because the county is still operating under busing plans that came out shortly after Brown v. Board, so it ain't like the towns in Iowa where (as long as you ain't in the country) everyone lives within like 4 miles of the school.

For the most part students are pretty safe and teachers could take the physical hit. But even a lot of bus drivers are retired people and like you said support staff skews older. If those people get the shit I had in early March they’re fucking toast. That sumbitch put me and a professional triathlete friend of mine flat on our backs. Just trucked. I don’t even remember a few days. You don’t want this shit.

Wondering if we should start a "Covid to the head dickhead" thread... methinks there will shortly be a shit-ton of these in the next few weeks.

So, there's such a thing as a grilled cheese bar ... oh, that's right ... it's Florida.

So, there's such a thing as a grilled cheese bar ... oh, that's right ... it's Florida. Man, that one patron who was roughly the size of Moby Dick should probably wear a mask - she has a material chance of dying if she catches The Germ. But at the same time, the place is a bar/restaurant. How the fuck are you supposed to wear a mask in there?

I don’t even remember a few days. You don’t want this shit. Did you do an antibody test? I was negatory. Prolly had terrible bronchitis. I'll bet that is what you had as well, bruh. Mine felt like some sumnabitch was sitting on my chest for 2+ days and I couldn't work out for 2 weeks. Had dry coughing spells that lasted 4 weeks. The problem is heinous bronchitis has pretty similar symptoms to a fairly bad case of The Germ, but I think The Germ is asymptomatic or really mild in a shitload of the population. I doubt that unless you have some weird genetic marker that The Germ will fuck you up that bad. I don't know how good those antibody tests are yet, though. My bro lives in a tiny 2 BR in Brooklyn with another dude and the roommate tested positive for antibodies and my bro tested negative. Roommate is Italian blood. My brother is 75% German. Germany ain't been hit hard. Germans might be able to knock this shit to the ground in liek 2 seconds so their immune system doesn't even show enough antibodies to trigger the damned test. I'm not saying go out and get it, but I think you'd be okay. It's pretty random as to what sorts of dudes with your profile that it lays up, which is why I wouldn't want to go get it.

From what I’ve read about the antibody tests is that if it’s negative, it’s probably accurate. I think there’s only like a 40% chance of being accurate if it says your’re positive for antibodies. At least that’s what the internet was saying a month ago. And you know. The internet. I love the bro’s (including Thunder) that think that if they have such a strong immune system that they won’t get it severely or die. There’s been plenty of very healthy people that thought the same thing. Someday they’ll figure out what exactly that is but it most likely won’t be discovered soon.
