The Q Anon Shaman is less crazy. Also someone please tell Miss Lindsey that people like me can discuss murdering Putin with reckless abandon (and really, everyone is thinking it's a legit option now) but maybe don't go all butch on FOX and say that shit out loud as a representative of the United States government. Stupid fucker.

Can someone tell me why the US and other countries can’t do more? They think they’ll trigger a guy who is bombing children for sport. Yes I think it’s also a bullshit explanation. Those who think “it’s not our war” are fucking delusional.

Can someone tell me why the US and other countries can’t do more? Personally, I think open combat with the world's largest nuclear power is a bad thing. Do you know why North Korea and Iran want nukes? They don't want them to attack us with, they want them to defend themselves from us.

You know that the US has had a number of "incursions" where it goes in and installs a regime in some hapless country and that the Russians typically stay the hell out. That's been the deal for 80 years. There's only one country on Earth that has dropped nukes on cities and it ain't fucking Russia.

Since when has the US ever done something as brazen as send military forces into another country in an attempt to install a new regime that is friendly to our political and economic interests? Besides that one time. And that other time. OK and those other 40 times...

Besides that one time. And that other time. OK and those other 40 times... I know right? So what’s different this time? Well in my opinion there are two schools of thought here: One, geopolitically, Russia cannot allow NATO access to a large, undefended border in their heartland, which is the danger a westernized Ukraine poses. It's not unlike when the US nearly went to war to keep Russian nukes out of Cuba in the early 60s. Two, economically, Russia is essentially a petro state like Saudi Arabia, and the basis of their entire economy is oil and natural gas. A westernized Ukraine will allow European companies like Shell or BP access to Black Sea fossil fuel reserves. The current Russian government basically exists because profit from selling oil and gas directly to Western Europe, so a westernized Ukraine threatens the foundation of the Russian economy. That being said, I view this through the paradigm of class, and in my mind, this is a fight between Russian billionaires trying to protect their money, and Western billionaires trying to get in on the trough. It doesn't matter if the government of Ukraine is a Russian puppet, or a Western puppet, it won't materially improve the lives of me or most Ukrainians. And because of THAT, I don't think we should be in open conflict with a nuclear power.

It's going to have a decade of political and economic instability the next decade no matter who is in charge. If you think Europe is going to swoop in and suddenly Marshall Plan Ukraine into the next Germany, you're out of your fucking mind.

Are you fucking smoking crack? Ukraine was already the poorest country in Europe. It's going to have a decade of political and economic instability the next decade no matter who is in charge. If you think Europe is going to swoop in and suddenly Marshall Plan Ukraine into the next Germany, you're out of your fucking mind. The world is basically comprised of a handful of bodies politic: the US, China, Russia, US client states and those who no one gives a fuck about (plus the wildcard of Israel). Russia has no client states. China is desperately trying to develop its own client states throughout Africa. Ukraine, unfortunately, falls into the group of those who no one gives a fuck about. Of course, the media turns a blind eye when a US client state, like Saudi Arabia, runs over some has been that no one gives a fuck about, like Yemen. I suspect two factors may be at play here, first the involvement of Russia and second, the possibility that western politburos were using Ukraine like an ATM. But to ghost's original point, I see absolutely no reason to intervene in this Russian incursion because I concur with ghost that this shit reeks of an oligarch war. The rules of engagement have been in place bince 1945, sorry Ukraine. You didn't get picked up by Oceania, you're probably gonna have to join Eurasia unless you can turn them back, but at least it will keep Eastasia off your ass, for now anyway. You will witness countless propaganda techniques. Appeals to emotion. In group-out group psyops. The tried and true tactics the military has used for 75 years to manufacture consent, replete with words and phrases like "containment," "spreading democracy," "we have to fight them there so we don't have to fight them here," "appeasement," references to that certain German Fuhrer. Don't fucking fall for it. Not one drop of American blood. Not fucking one. Hold the god damned line. It really fucking sucks for Ukrainian people and the Russian people. It really does, but it ain't our fight, kids.

I have seen a couple talking heads saying that is the only reason we are the least bit interested in that is happening in Ukraine.
