Elon pulling the biggest fackin long troll of all time.... Care to elaborate? Everybody's mad, and he doesn't seem too concerned with the cost(s) of making them mad.. kinda sounds like a troll, a really wealthy one who's probably unhinged

The dude is a dumbass. Just like he doesn’t know how electric cars work or rockets, he doesn’t know shit about how to run Twitter. He changes the rules constantly and fires the people that can actually keep the platform running. He’s asking for 8/month for Twitter blue to get features including the verified check mark. While some of the fall out of that has been funny there’s been people impersonating companies and people and tweeting out really bad info. He will get sued. He also has banned people that have crossed him or hurt his feelings. Who does that sound like? You sure about cars and rockets part tho? He doesn't know shit about those. He bought companies that had a good product and just needed a money infusion to kick things off. Same with Paypal. He created nothing and only bought into things because he at the time saw value in them to get more money. He's an egomaniac that 5hinks he knows best. He should just stick to smoking weed with Joe Rogan and having nobody love him except weird nerds.

Only people still working there are the ones that absolutely have to because they live paycheck to paycheck. Anyone not is already gone and those few remaining will leave the instant they find another job. Is friggin great for the rest of the tech industry - able to find coders now.

Or maybe twitter is able to run with fraction of the slackers they had been coddling and the rest of the tech industry sees that and follows suit.

Twitter is a global social media app. It’s not just in the US. There are employees all over, not just at Twitter HQ. I think it will be able to run for a while but when there’s a bump in the road; bad code, a hacker or other people with malicious intent, they won’t have the right people to fix it very fast. The algorithms are already screwed up. I get a lot of stuff in my feed I don’t want and the stuff I want I don’t see. The people I follow don’t show up most of the time and when I search for them I see that they are posting, it’s just not appearing in my feed.

Sure there is functional code right now. When the boss is jumping in giving instructions for changes that aren't held to the same standards/quality control... introduces bugs, tech debt, and security flaws that are a multiplier. They could afford to lose a few of their Sr. Devs, but the wholesale losses are not able to be dealt with unless they scale back the platform to accommodate for the comparable number of Devs.

Musk and pals are mad at Apple because they are cutting back on ads and may pull their app from the App Store
Some small government thoughts here.

Musk and pals are mad at Apple because they are cutting back on ads and may pull their app from the App Store Some small government thoughts here. Back when the US had actual leftists and not two Chamber of Commerce driven political parties those leftists created critiques on the US media business and noted how dangerous something called the "advertising license to do business" was to a free society. It effectively puts maybe fifty or a hundred gigantic companies in charge of driving what a media source can credibly cover. Obviously there is virtually nothing the government can do with respect to this issue, but I can foresee a pretty bleak future if Gilead, Pfizer, Abbvie, etc. are the arbiters of what constitutes "medical disinformation" that needs to be censored by those platforms. I guess I remember one time when the American left made a lot of noise about pharma advertising but then that stuff all gets memory holed 24 hours after the votes are counted. The media companies would go bankrupt without pharma ads. So it goes.

The shape the world is in these days......and it's shit like "oh noes, what happening wif Titter(a non-essential social media platform)" that's sparking deabte... The big social media platforms are a godsend to the common man. Excuse me, common person. I mentioned the "advertising license" above which serves a filter on what the media will report on. Another filter is the ownership and control of legacy media assets. In 1995 if some young woman was improperly fondled by someone like Harvey Weinstein they could reach out to a reporter from the LA area and inevitably the person with editorial discretion would say "well, I know Harvey and yeah, he's a little gropey, but there ain't a news story here, toots." Nowadays there is a way to circumvent that filter and reach a broad audience. The flip side of that is that without curation the platforms can turn into a shitshow and provide nothing but confirmation bias even if something is totally fucking wrong.

And Kanye West is banned again. Him posting a swastika was bad but apparently this is what got him banned again. He reminds me of a certain thin skinned message board owner. Elon says shit like comedy is back and free speech but then when anyone makes fun of him or says anything bad about him, they are banned.
