I am heading back to IC for the Iowa/ISU game and am fortunate enough to have tickets in one of the suites. I have a couple of questions for anyone who has sat in a suite and/or knows of anyone who has sat in a suite for a game. First, what is the recommended attire? Do I have to wear a golf shirt or polo (i.e. a shirt with a collar)? Second, do they serve alcohol in the suites? Thanks in advance.

I sat in a suite last season. I wore tan dress shorts and a white Iowa Golf shirt with a black tigerhawk on it. If I remember right, nobody was wearing dress pants or shirts with a tie. It was casual but a step up from jean shorts and t-shirt. There was beer** and soft drinks in the suite as well as chips/salsa, burgers, and pork sandwiches. The food could vary, I think. **The beer was in cans, I'm assuming it was provided by the suites and not smuggled in.

I sat up there last year too (Western Michigan game, what a horrible first experience in the suites). Scotthawk pretty much nailed it as to the dress code, food/beer, etc.

I sat in one for the Northwestern game 2 years ago. (one of the worst Iowa games I have ever seen)
No dress code. The food and drink depends on who's suite it is. There wasn't alcohol in our suite because we were on the Press level. But we did enjoy a few at halftime. I wasn't a big fan of the suites other then no line to take a leak and free food but other then that it's like watching the game on TV. I also missed my chance to punch Alford in the face his box was right next to ours.

We were in the glassed in section in the middle and it was to sterile and quiet. Don't get me wrong, it was a good experience but with the glass covering the view you couldn't feel the excitement of the crowd (I guess I did go to the Western Michigan game). I think the ideal seats if you were in the "tower" would be the boxes that have outside seating in the front of them.

All of the toliet paper and hand towel dispensers have Iowa Hawkeye logos on them.
Very cool. I took a picture

I always wear a tie when I go to Iowa games. Seriously. I would also like to point out, despite my poor, year-old photoshop here, that I am really good looking.

I don't recall what the weather was like at the Western Michigan game last year but the weather should still be good at the ISU game this year. Slide the gass open to get a feel for the crowd. When I went, we had students right below our box so we heard their opinions of what was going on. They were pretty funny about some things.

The outside boxes are very nice. If it is cold you can just walk a few steps and be inside to get a toast beverage or use the can. I would not want to sit in an enclosed box, the outside seats are must better.

For the NW game we went down at half time to drink beer and one of our family friends has outdoor club seats they told us that there were a few open seats in their row so that is where we watched to second half.

Maybe it's just me, but I would much rather sit with the unwashed proles in our section any day. We are close enough that our screams can be heard on the field, and I can wear whatever the hell I want (within reason). I'm not sure if I would sit in one of those suites for free. Seriously.

I would think that sitting in a suite would be like watching the game on TV. Being with the people is one part of what makes going to the games fun.
