I haven't seen anything from MoHawk recently. Did he get Itheus'ed? Edit: Nevermind... I forgot he's now named Matty B Soulchild...
Who has the pics from the tailgate?

In my haste to ensure we had food and beverages, I managed to leave my camera at home.
I think Spank has the only photos that exist. Spank?

I believe Spank has the only photographic evidence from the fesivities sadly (or thankfully, depending on your point of view). I'm a little disappointed in the turnaround time here spanky...

Sorry gents, as you might have noticed (or maybe not!), I was a little under-the-weather this week. I am pretty damn sick right now, and don't have a lot of energy, but I will get them up soon. Sorry again.

OK....considering the circumstances, you're forgiven. Those little ones are germ factories, aren't they? The first year is the worst IMO, not so bad after that. Wait until they start going to daycare this winter. Then you will know what it's like to have a head cold one week, flu the next, ear infection the one after that. The good news is the sicker they are when they are way little, like 1,2, or 3 the better off they are when they get to Kindergarten/first grade. A tip for you spank, watch out for hospitals. They don't just get you well, they get you sick first, then they get you well. Take all precautions when you take the little one to the clinic. Don't be afraid to tell the nurse/Doc etc to wash their hands when they come in the room. When we go we "survey" the room first and look to see if their are other sick kids in the waiting room. The natural tendency is to sit near other little kids so yours have someone to play with. Don't do it! Sit as far away as possible and wash your hands with that sanitizing stuff as much as possible.

Yep daycares are cesspools for germs, mattahawk is right, the sicker they get early on the better. Some things we have done in the past that have worked for us, Mattahawk said wash your hands and sanitize them as well, spot on, be careful with the sanitizing stuff by not going too overboard, it has alcohol in it and your hands will dry out terribly in the dead of winter, I had scabs on my hands the first winter as a parent from overdoing the hand sanitizer. Lysol, make it your best friend, spray the house down often, air the house out in the winter time, I used to do this on my lunch break, just open a few windows to get some fresh air in, it seemed to help. Vitamin C all winter, flu shots seemed to help all of us.
I work in a hospital, and I think that has helped me avoid most of the major illnesses my kid has brought home, I'm around sick people all year and I have built up a pretty good immune system through the years, Mattahawk is right though, do everything he told you when it comes to visiting a clinic or hospital for appointments, most docs and nurses are very good about scrubbing up between patient visits, but don't put your money on it.

Don't forget schools when mentioning germ cesspools. We always get a good chuckle from a kid straight out of college either student-teaching or in their first job....they ALWAYS get sick within the first month.....guaranteed. After you're around the germs for awhile, you do build up an immunity and then hardly ever get sick. My wife is also a freak about the doctor's office. She always took extra toys in the diaper bag to keep the kids from playing with the ones provided.....talk about germ breeding grounds, do you suppose they ever get cleaned???
