I would love to see the cubs win, but I just have a bad feeling about this series.

Correct me if I'm wrong Leon, but don't you expect the Cubs to go 0-162 every year, even though you claim to be a fan?
Good Lord. Why on earth do you think LA will beat the Cubs in this series? A feeling? I'll grant you that it is certainly possible the Cubs could lose the series, but frankly, I like their chances.
The national media will try to play it up as much as they can, but the reality is this: They have Derrek Lowe and Manny Rameriez. That's about it. Their bullpen is solid, but our offense is the best in the NL.
Have some faith.

The guy is a Cub and Hawkeye fan for Christ's sake.

As a lifelong Dodgers fan, I can tell you there is absolutely no chance L.A. beats the Cubs in this series. Zero. Every Cubs fan has told me that, so it must be true.

Lifelong Cub's fan here, I am very excited about the Cub's chances in the playoffs, but remain VERY cautious and try to keep my optimism realistic. It's going to be very difficult for the Cub's.

I've never said the Dodgers have zero chance of winning this series. I don't think their chances are very good, and would still think that if I was a Cardinals fan. They played in the worst division in all of baseball, and barely finished about 500...even with that revamped team for the last two months. They would have finished behind STL in the NL Central. I like the Cubs chances much more than LA's.

The Cubs will win this series easily. No doubt in my mind.

Next, Soul you're going to tell me-"oh it's just one game. It's a long series." Well, here's a dose of reality. The Dodgers are every bit as good as the cub and have one of the best post-season players in baseball on the team (manny). The cub have a bunch of no good for nothin crapsticks who couldn't come up with a big game if their un-godly salaries (eg soraino, lee) depended on it.
As for your-the only way you can really be a fan is if you drink the bottomless glass of cub kool-aid schitck-it's a weak argument without merit. In fact, the true fan sees his team for what it is a flawed pile of steaming excrement.
The Dodgers strolled into wrigley b-itch slapped the cub and now will go back to LA with home-field adv.
You cannot honestly tell me you didn't know the game was over as soon as the grand slam occurred.
Dodgers 3-0. It's last october all over again!

In the history of baseball, has there ever been a bigger October bust than Soriano? Unless the Cubs win it all and he steps up in a major way, I've gotta say yes.
Don't knock Lee, though. That year Florida beat the Cubs and then the Yankees, Lee was pretty solid. At least at one point, he was a decent ballplayer.

Lee single handledly beat the Cubs in that series. Then he gets the ring in the Cubs Clubhouse the next year... ouch.

You cannot honestly tell me you didn't know the game was over as soon as the grand slam occurred. Dodgers 3-0. It's last october all over again! I did know the game was over at the Grand Slam. But, I also happen to think we've got a pretty good ball team, and every game won't be like last night. You're right, I am going to tell you it's just one game. Because, unlike you, I WANT to believe in the Cubs. I WANT to see them win. YOU apparently, just want to see them lose every year and be a dour, pessamistic fan. That's fine. It's well within your rights as a sports fan to do that. I choose to have optimism. I knew the Dodgers were a damn good team coming into this series, and didn't expect it to be easy in any way shape or form. However, I don't think this series is over by a long shot, and I'd love to know why you're ceding the postseason away already after a single game where the Cubs played nowhere near what they are capable of.

Highest paid player in team sports, and no rings, or championship appearances, to show for it. Lot's of strikeouts and chokejobs though. A-Rod is Mr. September. ManRam golfed that one out of Wrigley. Ball was almost in the dirt. That does not portend well for the remainder of the series, methinks.

Unfortunately, Soul, your WANT or my want have absolutely no impact on the outcome of the game. What does have an impact is that in the 2nd half of the season the Dodgers were a verry good team with the best player. Here's something for your optimisim the winner of the 1st game of the best of 5 series has gone on to win that series 23 of 26 times. Further, realistically the season comes down to Zambrano pitching a gem tonite-Again the season comes down to Carlos-never-know-what-you-may-get-not-an-ace-even-though-some-people-consider-him-an-ace-crazy-head-case-Zambrano. Even the most optimistic cub fan cannot feel all that comforted given the circumstances.
*Note: Yes, I realize that means 3 teams have won the series after losing game 1. Yes, I know the red sox came back after being down 0-3. Bu, those are weak arguments that are the exceptions not the rule.

So I should just not watch the rest of the series because it's inevitable the Cubs are going to get swept? Is that what you're saying Leon?

I got back home this morning at 4:30AM from that POS game. Great trip, shitty game and I am tired as hell today.
The only thing that made the game worth while was the 25ish chick that was sitting across the isle from us with skin tight running pants on and a toddler's Soto jersey that spent the entire game getting hammered and shaking her ass.
The funniest thing happened on DeRosa's (I think) hit down the left field line in the 9th that was called foul she stood up and tried to get the crowd to start chanting: that was in, that was in.
Needless to say she was the highlight of the game.
