It seems like every time I check the KCCI website over the last few weeks there are one or two fatal car crashes every day. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this trend. I am going to go out on a limb and say this will be a record year for vehicle fatalities in the state of Iowa. Does anyone know how to look up the statistics?
Since yesterday there have been 4.

Drive on I-80 through Coralville and Iowa City and you can see why there could be somebody killed with the 6 inch median that they have on both the East and West bound lanes. I

Very true Hoffa. And could they possibly be any slower at getting this road work completed and get I-80 back open?
If I heard correctly, they are close to finishing this phase, and then will start on yet another section of I-80 in the IC/Coralville area. Dang...

On the way home from the game, we were probably delayed 30 minutes as we got closer to Des Moines. There were SUV's going through the median and going the other way to find the nearest exit. What a mess...I've just had it with construction.

As of today we are under last years total by 29 through the end of September. 293 fatalities this year as compared to 322 last year.
Fatalities: With Safety Belt...........86 Without Safety Belt......84 Unknown......................43 N/A...............................68
N/A would be motorcycle or similar type fatalites.
Again, this is just a comparion between last year and this year through Oct 1st.

I They have been working on that since Coral Ridge opened 10 years ago.

Another head on crash on I-80 just west of IC today. All these head on crashes on interstate are indeed strange.

I hope they don't relook the 70mph speed limit.

I hope they don't relook the 70mph speed limit. I would see them going to the cable in the median much like they did between Ankeny and Ames before they do anything with the speed limit again. I could be wrong though!

Some lady ran over her 4 year old daughter and killed her today. I think that would be about the worst thing that could possibly happen to a person.

I could be wrong though! They have this on I-70 basically all the way between KC and STL and head on wrecks on the interstate have decreased dramatically. The person running into those cables is usually still fucked, but at least no one else is.

I could be wrong though! They're working on putting in those cables somewhere in the Williamsburg area, I think, on I-80.
