I know it isn't always smart to give away one's secrets, but heck, I'm in a sharing-mood.
Bacon-wrapped chicken bites (super easy to make) 4 Chicken breasts 1 lb. bacon 2/3 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons chili powder.
1. Mix brown sugar and chili powder. 2. Cut chicken into 1" cubes/pieces 3. Cut bacon strips into thirds.
Wrap bacon around chicken pieces, then skewer with a toothpic. Dredge in sugar/chili power mixture and put on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
(These puppies reheat pretty darn well as can be attested from last Saturday).
Shrimp Marinade 1/4 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup cooking oil 1/2 cup lemon juice 1/2 teaspoon salt 2 cloves crushed garlic 3 tablesoppons parsley 3 tablespoons minced onion 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Mix it all together and then marinate shrimp overnight. Throw on the grill. For those non-seafood types (Germanine.....) I bet this would be great for chicken as well.
Enjoy.

Thanks Ron! I asked Marla about the shrimp, and she explained it to me. My memory didn't go beyond the first few ingredients, though. TASTY!!

Made this the other day. I was skeptical looking at the recipe, but they turned out really well. Delicious.
Triple Bypasses
6 hot dogs 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 1 egg salt and pepper to taste 1 tbls red pepper flakes 1/2 c. chopped onion 1 lb. package of bacon 2 cups your favorite BBQ sauce toothpicks 6 fairly large hoagies
1. In a medium bowl mix ground beef, egg, s&p, red pepper flakes, onion. Mix well with your hands.
2. Take a hot dog and mold the beef mixture around the dog in as thin a layer as you can and still completely cover the hot dog. Wrap the covered hot dog with two slices of bacon and secure with 2 or 3 toothpicks.
3. Grill over medium heat about 10 minutes turning occasionally or until bacon is crisp and hamburger is cooked. They will flare up a little, so be careful, but it also helps crisp the bacon.
4. Remove from grill. Place the BBQ sauce in a large dish. and roll the bypasses in BBQ sauce. Place on bun, and eat.
These things are really good and I was pretty much full after eating just one. Would be great for a tailgate party.

Interesting......Travis brought a jug of that stuff to the tailgate Saturday, but it ended up in my cooler. I haven't managed to have a taste of it yet, but will be bringing it back for the Wisconsin game. Packed full of Everclear (like we needed to add that to the mix last Saturday). Travis....give it up buddy. How does one make this intoxicating potion? Does anyone have a good recipie for that kick ass apple pie drink that is a big hit with the entire Iowa Hawkeye tailgating crowd? I have a little bit of an idea but that stuff is the bomb.

1 Gallon of Apple Cider 1 Gallon of Apple Juice 8 Cinnamon sticks (whole) 4 cups of sugar 750 ml. of Everclear
Heat the juice and cidar in a large pot not quite to boiling, should take around 45 minutes. Stir the sugar in as soon as you combine the two while still cold. After the sugar is in, drop in the 8 cinnamon sticks, they will boil with the liquid and remain whole.
Once it has "boiled" for about 45 min or so, take it off the heat and let it cool for about an hour or so...then remove the cinnamon sticks and stir in the Everclear.
Enjoy! It is good at room temp, cold, or warm. I love it and it really makes your house smell awesome!

Twine, if you fuck it up, I live in Ankeny and would be more than happy to make it for you anytime you need it. You just buy the supplies. But it's pretty easy.
